I'm the head of a group of 15 who are showing up at 4 tomorrow. I've done my part. :)

Has MTSU played a zone defense much this year? Not all zones are created equal. Just throwing one out there against UT without really having played it much doesn't seem very likely.

I know they have one big guy in the middle, but not sure about the other two under the boards. If MTSU can stuff the lanes with their zone, the Vols will be jacking 3s.

Seems like one or two games this year UT ate up the zone and did a great job in the paint and around the rim. So, I as well think, if MTSU is not known to have a great zone, then it should not bother UT so much.

Belmont Head Coach Rick Byrd comments after Mid TN game:

"I attempted to describe plays against both a man defense and a zone defense which is hard to do. We were not sure how they were going to attempt to defend us.

They played zone defense which is hard to play at the end of the game because you cannot hold players accountable. I have practically never played zone defense in a last-second defensive situation.

However, they did and we got a very poor shot. They played great defense.”

Good find Caliban.

I'm guessing they'll play it a heavy dose then tonight.

Nice find. So I guess we will see some zone tonight. Hopefully McBee is on fire tonight.
