What do his tax returns and financial records have to do with his job as POTUS? Oversight doesn't mean digging free nilly through every aspect of his life hoping to find something they can use against him. Oversight is about his job as President. But hey, if this is the precedent the left is wanting to set, I fully expect it will come back to bite them in the future. Seems stupid to me when they could just focus on beating him in 2020, but maybe they don't believe they can beat him?
I don't know about the tax return thing, other than it seems like they'll get them. Doesn't mean they can make them public, though.
I think he's neck deep in foreign money.. Russians,. Saudis etc.. But anything short of criminal activity, such as laundering money won't be provable. That's why they want the Deutsche Bank records.
So, yeah,. I'm guessing the same thing about fearing defeat in 2020. I think a backfire could be the self-fulfilling prophecy.
I'm trying to figure out how Trump can be totally incompetent, yet also a brilliant mastermind able to keep a multitude of crimes covered up? Shouldn't it be one or the other? Seriously, he's a douche bag human being, and I understand not liking him, but the left has let their feelings for the man override their reason. For the millionth time, stop worrying about impeachment and focus on 2020.
Name me one billionaire that is not global.
I don't know if Trump is a billionaire or not, but it wouldn't be a problem to have foreign creditors, but it would be a crime to not disclose them. I don't think conflict of interest would be enough to cause a stir, only provable money laundrring or some otherwise shady transactions.
Maybe all billionaires are doing it, whatever it is.. but if it's dubious and you end up being president... Well, better have covered you arse.
Damn, I gotta get off here.

Just throwing this out there, but 2 1/2 years of being analy probed by the Meuller, Weissmann team and there’s nothing accusatory in the report about Trumps finances and how he moved money around to my knowledge.
Well, there is that.. although I'm of the mind that there isn't much to see other than exaggerated wealth and self-serving tax cuts.
The Whitehouse has essentially refused to cooperate with Congressional oversight and inquiries, as well as filing suits to stop financial statements from Deutsche Bank and others being released.
They're stalling, and the courts will force compliance. Doesn't much matter why they want it.

I don't think Mueller looked into it. If he did, it's not evident in the report. I suppose it could be that he did and it were redacted, or not included.
I think @RockyTop85 could give a definitive answer as to what extent it was covered.
It wasn’t addressed unless it was in a footnote. It’s not far fetched to think they looked, but if they found anything unrelated to Russian interference, it would have been outside the scope of the investigation and still subject to OLC opinion. I guess it would have been referred out to SDNY or another USA’s office.
I tend to think it’s unlikely that there are significant financial crimes hanging out there and nobody else has been indicted. You’d think there would have been other Trump Co. Execs involved. Either they haven’t been reviewed or they’re clean.
