Yes and yes... I also think if she had been elected that we would have seen the appointment of a special counsel (possibly even Robert Mueller), to investigate if she had committed obstruction. It would have meant more hearings and more partisan wrangling. I'm convinced that Republicans would have been committed to impeaching her. It just means that the talk of "witch hunts" and presidential harassment is disingenuous.

I agree.
The Russians played both sides to cause problems. It worked perfectly although had HRC been elected the press coverage would have been way different.

Thanks for answering. I agree that it likely would’ve been the same type of deal had she won. So going back to Trump, we have the left saying collusion/conspiracy and obstruction clearly happened and the right saying not only is it clear those things didn’t happen but the whole thing is a set up. The truth is almost certainly somewhere between those points. I do think Trump did some things that pushed the envelope and possibly would be troublesome if it were you or I, moreso on the obstruction front. But at the end of the day I don’t think charges will ever be brought because people with big money just have a different set of rules when it comes to the legal system. They get out of things that are much worse that obstruction and more obvious than Trump’s actions. Once he’s out of office the last thing the left will want to do is keep him in the spotlight. I really don’t think the investigation into the origins of the investigation will yield much either. I think it’ll be similar to the charges stemming from Mueller’s investaigation. There may be some lower level folks that’ll be charged with things like perjury but it won’t go up to Obama or Hillary. No way.

The investigation, or even the appointment of a special counsel, would have been very difficult to justify without the meeting at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016. It is very clear that Trump Jr., was welcoming whatever assistance he could get from Natalia Veselnitskaya and her Russian cohorts. His e-mails with Rob Goldstone leave no doubts about that. The only thing in doubt, is whether or not anything of value to the Trump campaign was provided. We don't know that and never will... we do know that Trump Jr., lied about who was in attendance at the meeting and what was discussed. We also know that Trump Sr., dictated a narrative aboard Air Force One, that was also not the truth. So, the claims of a "witch hunt" do irk me here. The Trump campaign did seek help from the Russians and then lied about it. The fact that suspicious behavior aroused suspicion... does not fit the definition of a persecution (otherwise known as a witch hunt).

Why lie about who was there and what was discussed? Trump Jr., said it was about adoptions and the Magnitsky Act. Yet, his e-mails with Rob Goldstone make it clear that he was looking for dirt on Hillary Clinton. Once again, suspicious behavior was met with suspicion. That is not a witch hunt.

Political campaigns always look for dirt on their opponents. In some cases, if they can't find dirt, they make up stuff. You seem to have no problem with Hillary colluding with foreigners to make up stuff on Trump.

The whole meeting was a setup to begin with opposition research isn’t illegal unless you pay foreign spies to fabricate lies and have our intelligence agencies spy on your opponent like Hilary did. The best is yet to come 👍
