Muricans are docile & obedient slaves

You're a property rights guy, correct? That airplane is private property and both parties agreed to a contract. The passenger didn't live up to his end of the contract an was trespassing.

Don't get me wrong, I think this was handled poorly by UA and the cops but there is only one party definitely (passenger) and one (cops) possibly in the wrong.

It's a dilemma for me, for sure.

OP premise is a bit of an exaggeration. They didn't march him off to a concentration camp. He just wouldn't follow LAWFUL orders to leave the plane.

Heavy handed and an overreaction by the cops? Yes. Could have been handled much better? Yes. Something we all relate to because air travel is now exhausting and frustrating? Yes.

Some sort of symbol of a police state? F^ck No. Let's not meet this overreaction with one of our own.

I ****ing hate being on your side.

I've saw passengers thrown off, don't know what for but they were kicked off. Saw a family get left at the dock once for being late.

We both know people are thrown off because of unruly behavior. Left at dock because they cant hold a ship of 3,000 for a party of 4.

Ive never seen paying customers denied the trip because Carnival needed staterooms for other Carnival personnel.

I can see UA settling, jurys can be stupid and swayed by emotion. But reality is all UA did was enforce it's carriage contract, the man was the one in violation. UA could and should file suit against him.

The only party, outside of the passenger in the wrong IMO were the police.

no it didn't. they weren't technically overbooked and they didn't follow the guidelines for choosing who to remove. it isn't supposed to be random, which they have admitted it was.

No, I've never seen or heard of that either.

"Rebellion" is stupid. Even "rebels" adhere to 99.9% of the law. They just choose to break the ones they don't like.

It's amazing that you seem to believe the government can simply make any law they desire and you will willfully obey. Not only that, you'll stand up for the government thugs who enforce them.

You're the problem with our nation.

And how in the wrong the cops were is something that should probably be handled in a civil court

If everyone were to rebel, would it still be considered rebellion?

Don't be so dramatic.

Not at all. I follow the laws that don't majorly inconvenience me and that are difficult to get away with. I ignore the rest.

Speed limit is 70? I'm doing 73. #anarchyeverywhere

Rent is due tomorrow? I'm paying on Sunday. #nonconformist

Officer says "license and registration"? I'm only CRACKING my window. #sovereigncitizensunite

If a contract is built around crap concepts and stupid stipulations, i have a moral obligation to fight it.

However, i never do. I put in my earbuds and do what im told.

That's what I generally do, and most other Muricans, as well. It just looks and feels weird to look at how we just allow abuses like this to occur right in front of us.

Taxes, regulations, guns, and drugs are my favorite laws to break.

Copyright too. Those are a joke.

I do crack my window. But I also have taken part in protests of roadblocks where we would redirect traffic by holding signs this sign "roadblock ahead, turn here to avoid".
