Who wants to go somewhere that writes some pretty negative news articles and people are already calling you names before you even step foot on campus. God forbid he does go there and messes up. They'll hang the kid.

you mean stuff like this...

I'm laying odds of 3:1 in Arky's favor. MM's mom has a runaway redneck ego that wants to be in charge of her son for the next 50 years of his life. She wants the spotlight.

I also get carried away and I am sure that I have posted on this board things that I would never say to anyone in person. Let's resolve to make this a more upbeat board al least until after signing day.

In response to The Virginians posted link: as of today (Dec 15th) the Arkansas perspective is that Mustain will end up in ND. If Weiss was finished recruiting QB's, why would he have come to Fayettville to visit Mitch earlier this week? All of the print media as well as TV and radio are conceding that Arkansas is a longshot to sign Mustain....Arkansas has started to re-recruit QB's they got off of when Mich verbally commited in September. It would appear that Mitch's mother is involved in the process and would favor a program that would get her son to the next level. You would be hard pressed to find anyone in the media with ties to the UA athletic dept that believes Mustain will end up here. All these same people, and people close to the family, say TN is not even in the conversation.

Do we actually know for a fact that Weis came down there to meet with Mustain? I mean we've seen news stories to confirm Cut went down there but I have yet to see anything in the news about Weis going there and have seen quite a few saying ND wasn't interested.

I love how fans of other teams get on here an post stuff like this thinking they will get the UTK fans all spastic. Problem is that some of us do go spastic over this stuff. This is obviously just somebody wanting to ruffle UTK fans feathers. UTK is definately "in the conversation" and it is ridiculous to think they are not in the picture. Not saying he is 100% coming to UTK, not even close at this point it is wide open. ND has said "on the record" that they do not want to sign 3 QB's in one class. That would be ignorant.

Unless a ND QB de-commits then it will most likely come down to Arkansas, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Another article questioning why nutt named a high school coach an O.C.

Looks like Nutt is losing respect everywhere.

Hiring a HS coach as an OC is crazy :tease2: absolutely st00pid :bad: who else would do such an insane thing?

Ooops, Phil did.

Check this out!

Tom Lemming says that Mustain is more than likely headed to Tennessee.

Its just a couple of questions down.

Check the date on that. Article is 10 days old and that's old when it comes to recruiting.

Until UT once again becomes a "hot" program, don't look for many huge recruits really considering UT.

Yet another reason CPF should have monitored his staff's production closer.

UT should never have hit "rock bottom" without staff changes!

A "hot" program? what is that supposed to mean?

we played in the SEC title last season, and we won the cotton bowl last season. if you think that we suck now because of one crapy season...

... we made the coaching changes needed, and in my mind... with coach cut we are "hot"!

Good for you...but just how many hot recruits is that bringing in?

By the way we lost in the SEC Title game & played a very overrated & average A&M team. As has been proven this season.

Of course, not as much as we were.

Yes we lost to Auburn in the SEC champ game. Auburn was the best team in the nation last year. No doubt in my mind Auburn could have beaten USC if they had had the chance to play them. WE gave Auburn a great run in the SEC Champ game.

As for the Cotton bowl, we spanked A&M and they was a good team last year and had a bad year this year as we did aswell. Still they almost beat texas (who is in the rose bowl). Everyone loses players at the end of the year and those players can have a huge impact on your next season. So a team can be good one year and bad the next it does mean they were overrated the year before.

We have a few hot recruits committed already. On Feb 1st, we will have many hot recruits signing on the dotted line. Some teams land recruits early and some get hot late. Tennessee usually heats up middle January to signing day.

Doesn't sound like you are a RealVol.

Reply to therickbol: "fans from other teams get on here to ruffle UTK fan.." I am a Vol fan....I just happen to live in this Hell-hole known Little Rock and repeating what is reported in Arkansas from "inside sources at UA". Arkansas sports media never give up an a big Arkansas recruit (they thought C. Houston and B. Smith were signing w/ UA up until the last minute) however, all media memebers in this area have very stong feelings that Mitch will NOT end up at UA (those are not my words); Mustain is pursuing ND...that's where he wants to go. He has kept in contact w/ Weiss. The sports media in Fayettville and Little Rock both report that there was a visit from Tn coaches however Mitch wants ND. I believe it's Mitch's mother that has pushed TN....AS A VOL FAN, I would love to see Mustain in orange/white (especially since it would make Arkansas fans sick since they hate UT so bad). Since most of the stories that major media outlets report are inaccurate, I though I would be helpful reporting what is happening here in Arkansas (since the Mustain recruiting is discussed 24-7 on the radio) but don't shoot the messanger just b/c you don't like the message!

1. Of course an Arkansas Radio show would favor anyother team to UT getting another of their better players. Don't buy into it!
2. He may indeed go to ND, but as of now ND is not looking to add another QB in this class.
3. The family is not talking to anyone other than coaches so any report from a 2nd rate sportsshow would be inaccurate at best.
4. UT is very much in the picture

Well... Nice work there Dick Tracy. :shades:

Trust me I am a REALVOL. For years I've seen the stagnation of our offense that finally hit rock bottom in 05. I don't understand why so many UT fans became comfortable with many last quarter rally victories w substandard performances by a pathetically coached predictable offensive unit. Changes were indeed overdue. No headcoach can allow his staff to become as stagnant, lazy and predictable as UT's coaches & scheme had gotten. My friend because I directly blame CPF for allowing this slippage does not make me less of a Vol Fan.

As far as A&M being a good team last year, I don't believe it. But as I said earlier, everyone has their opinion. And trust me as a huge SEC Fan, Auburn wanted no part of USC last year.

Speaking of the SEC, it too has become an overrated beast in itself. Of the 12 SEC Teams, I believe only Auburn, GA & possibly LSU (if they unplug Les Miles mic) were championship / bowl worthy.

It probabaly is a second rate sports talk radio show...but the co-host is the former SID at UA, lives in Fayettville, and is at the UA athletic department on a daily basis (he is also close friends w/ Frank "the god" Broyles. The 8 years I have lived here, his information given on this second rate show about Arkansas athletics has been accurate. I , as you, do not know whats going to happen with this recruit, however, how is your information anymore accurate than mine? Your information seems very slanted. Your quoting sources based in North Carolina? or Florida? or where? You should read the ND blogs...they think Mustain is coming to ND. They no more of a clue than you or I. Having lived in Arkansas for 8 years....I hate Uof A. I really don't care where Mitch goes....as long as its not Arkansas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This man has stated since Mitch decommited to Arkansas, that the choice was between Arkansas or ND...Tennessee was never really in the mix. When this radio show signed on at 4pm CST, inside word from several sources within UA are Mustain will commit to ND, with Arkansas still a "longshot" and TN not in the picture.

You might want to send that guy this quote from the mouth of Mustain...

"It's Notre Dame, Tennessee and Alabama a little bit," Mustain said Wednesday during a visit to Atlanta for Fox Sports Net's Countdown to Signing Day show. "And I still like Arkansas."

Is this kid playing the field or what?
