Mustain to ND

My guess is that this guy will be a Hardegree or Cooter.....warm body just in case. Perhaps he's someone Cut sees a a potential to develop.

Plus with only one more year of Cooter on the sidelines, Cut may be desperate....

(waiting for the responses on the above statements...)

I don't pretend to know that much about recruiting, but I cannot see ND landing another qb. As Weiss stated he's comfortable w his qb situation just hte way it is.

Coach Cut appears to get a lot of credit for "developing" the Mannings, and honestly I'm sure he didn't hurt their progression. But be mindful of the fact they had a Dad that was one of the best qb's ever in the SEC & wasn't that bad in the NFL EVEN w a pathetic supporting cast. Both attended the most elite football camps one can imagine, both attented the premier football power schools in the State of LA. Granted Peyton may be the best qb ever but realize he has a great supporting cast. On the other hand, Eli's numbers show he's just about an average qb in the NFL. I truly wish Coach Fulmer had gotten some new blood and thus a new offensive scheme.

I hope this proves to be reality, Coach Cut has indeed expanded the scheme that has become outdated & overly exposed. W/o a major overhaul, we are still in trouble.

Thats true about the Mannings, but do you think that Archie would have let his son's under the wing of any quarterbacks coach. I don't think so I'm sure Cut was hand picked by Archie. Both the Mannings would have ended up at UT if Cut would of stayed at UT. I know Archie went to Ole Miss, but that was not a major reason Eli went their.

I still think Mustain ends up at Bama. He has a good chance there to walk in and start immediately and their head coach is a former college qb.

Can't get 'em all. Although the Ol' Ball Coach has been known to try. If he don't then he'll at least make some wise cracks about it.

Has SOS really gone after anyone? He usually waits for those that want to play for him to contact him. Not to be taken literally, but think about it.

While I think that recruiting is consequential, I also think that it's just as inconsequential. If you look at the talent we had this year, you'll see plenty of highly rated recruits. If you then look at our record, you'd think we were playing with walk ons.

One average year of recruiting shouldn't hurt us that bad, not with the class we had last year. It's the trend of average recruiting years that we should be worried about and so far, there isn't a trend.

Then maybe Smelley will de-commit and we can once more hope for the Smelley-Cooter QB controversy next season. :dance2:
