Manning took a .500 team to the best record (tied) in the AFC. Denver went from #25 in scoring to #2. Peterson was amazing, but RB just isn't as "valuable" as QB. If the award were for "most outstanding" then Peterson has an argument, but it's MVP.

I honestly think Trout deserved both. But Cabrera had a great season and had a good case for the MVP

The Vikings were a 3 win team last year. With a week remaining, they are already six games better than that. With a week remaining, the Broncos are only 4 games better. There is no question that Peterson has been more "valuable" than Peyton. Without Peterson, the Vikings would be 3-12 right now. Manning has good young receivers and two good backs to take the load off of him. The only other weapon Minnesota has, Percy Harvin, got injured the first week of November. Think about it this way: The aerial attack of Minnesota is so non existent, that even with missing the past six games, Harvin is still leading receiver for the Vikings.

:lolabove: Denver is #25 in yards per attempt. They are #9 in attempts, but #18 in rushing yards. They don't have much of a running game at all.

But they were a 3-win team with AP for 12 games (and 12 TDs, more than he has this year). Manning is the one responsible for the 5-game swing, because he was the main addition. The Vikings are 6 games better for more reasons than just the fact that AP is off the hook.

But that three win Viking team had AP on it. The improvement with the broncos is after adding Manning. Right?

Unbelievable homerism. A new gameplan and two fully healthy backs are helping Peyton, plus young receivers that are adjusted to the NFL. Peyton has all kinds of help on that offense, not to mention his defense is pretty good too. I mean they are just third overall in yards allowed this season. And Von Bell is one of the most feared pass rushers in the game right now.

Of course the Vikings haven't improved from a scoring aspect. You're telling me that a new super pass happy team is suddenly scoring more than they did a year ago when they weren't so pass happy? Shocking. A run first (and second and third) team isn't leading an extremely pass happy league in scoring? Shocking. Your stats look pretty, but they are kind of like Luck's pass yardage. When taken as a whole, it doesn't mean that much.

how is Aaron Rodgers not in this conversation? Guy has killed it after a slow start.

Bruce Arians coach of the year

Luck is rookie of the year, went from 2-14 to the 5 seed in the playoffs most expected the redskins to be descent this year before the year started most had the Colts 32nd in the power polls. Luck runs a prostlye offense and has more pass yards and td passes

No one expected the Redskins to be decent. Every "expert" had them finishing last in the East. What about total yards and total TDs?

I heard plenty of people say before the season say Griffin would win rookie of year because he has a better team around him. Luck will have a better record, broke record for most passing yards by rookie, tied for most 4th quarter or Ot comebacks by any qb. We saw last week how much the redskins need griffin

It was Cleveland dude. Plug in Peyton and Indy has 10+ wins. That's all they were missing.

Didn't cousins lead a comeback win the week before also? Griffin is a system qb we have seen this before. Plug peyton in on any team and they are 10 wins. Head coach missed most of season, terrible o line play, d in transition and 4 rookie receivers.

Cousins beat the browns. The freaking browns. And it was a completely different style of play than anything we've seen from RG3 all season. Get a clue.

A system qb? Cmon.

Colts coaching situation could have very easily motivated them a lot more than it hurt them.

I would say he's in the conversation, but AP has just done too much for the Vikings for me to put Aaron Rodgers over him.

Done too much? QBs win. RBs don't win. Defenses win. Front lines win. There will never again be a RB MVP in the NFL with the current rules. Voters might do something stupid and give one the award, but it's ludicrous.
