Just kind of a point though, you say that Texas' defense is only good for 11th in the SEC, but you need to take in to account that the offenses are much better than the offenses (can you even call them that?) in the SEC.
Vandy=117th scoring offense
Tennessee=115
Miss State=113
Kentucky=105
Auburn=102
South Carolina=97
Sure the SEC defenses are slightly better, but it's clear that these teams would have an awful offense no matter what, so it pads the defenses stats.
You could probably say the same for the Big XII though, but the defenses are at least competent from what I've seen. We'll see come bowl season I guess.
I'm always amazed at how worked up people get over an award that counts Andre Ware, Gino Toretta, and Eric Crouch among its recipients.
Gino Toretta was about the 10th best player on his own team. Alabama had three players on their defensive line better than him."Best college football player"
Those 3 deserved it when they won it! It's not a best pro prospect! Charlie Ward deserved it and NEVER played a down in the NFL. Sorry peyton did not win......it was a media driven win for Woodson. get over it! He was the best player that year...not Peyton!
Yeah, that's me. President of the Peyton Manning Fan Club. You should really know who you're talking to before you make assumptions. You just made yourself look terminally stupid."Best college football player"

I have no problem saying that the idea that Geno Toretta was at any point in his career one of the 50 best players in college football is terminally stupid.Sorry about the Peyton thing.....you, also, should know who you are talking to before you call someone "terminally stupid". When you make a post about past heisman winners, you open yourself up.

I hated it when the other experts voted Oklahoma to play for the national title in 2004 and it led to the most lopsided BCS game in history while undefeated Auburn sat home
The experts also picked Jason White (Jason Who?) -- just a few years back for the Heisman.
The experts have been good to Oklahoma consider the embarrassment your team has suffered on the national stage time and time again
Or maybe Boise State was just that good?
C'mon man, you can't have it both ways. Sooner or later, Oklahoma has to put up or shut up.
You didn't see Auburn's dominant performance that year against that powerhouse Virginia Tech squad in the Sugar Bowl?Do you honestly think Auburn had a chance against USC either? I'm not taking up for Oklahoma, but Auburn got monkey stomped by essentially the same USC team the year before.
