My Mock Class For NSD '11

Just based on the staff's actions alone you can tell they feel great about Williams. They dropped Parker to take him and his measurables are sick. Big and fast. He could play DE or LB. He is the definition of a hybrid player. Barring an injury he could be a huge pickup.

Do you think wilcox will use him at like a joker position?

I'd be a fan of that. a player like that could really help us do the whole 3-4 4-3 switch mid-series.

About 2 of them will probably be asked to look else where on that list and another one will on his own. Three others will end up on that list that will turn a few heads.

Sorry guys had to go over to the Navy office for a few.

* Crowder is an EE & I fixed it, I forgot to add that. My bad

* IMO we wont land Bellamy, Grooms, or Pagan.

* We would love to add another quality DE but I just don't see us being in real contention for one.

* As I stated this is how I feel about where I class will be as of right now, things could change & recruiting for another player could pickup at anytime.

We also only have three underclassmen DEs on the entire team right now: Miller, Smith, and Bohannon.

We will have Ben Martin back next year barring any major setbacks in his rehab.. Steven Fowlkes will obviously move back out to end and add some decent depth (he will be a junior).. This will allow us to build some depth at end next year, but I definitely agree that we probably need to pick up another DE this year.. I think we have a pretty good shot at Pagan, Rasco, or another possibly but it remains to be seen..

I think this is a pretty realistic class as of what we know right now. Although at the end of the recruiting process (NSD), it seems there are always guys who we knew NOTHING about or had no shot at in November. See Bryce Brown, Da'Rick, many considered Hunter a long shot, JJ was a long-shot at best.

I think that's a very realistic class, but there will be a surprise or two in there. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see us lose a guy or two. Just happens...

I like the list, though I do believe there's a good chance for a surprise commit from someone that is somewhat unexpected by the general fan base.

Also, I believe Hubbs reported that he expects CDD to take 28+. Technically, do the EEs have to sign? If not, seems like UT take a couple more that won't qualify on NSD and have as many as 30+ total commits in the class (26 new scholar-athletes next fall + sign-and-place recruits).

I do believe that is a pretty accurate/realistic class. I would be extremely pleased if that is how it ended.

I'd be a fan of that. a player like that could really help us do the whole 3-4 4-3 switch mid-series.

I think that Williams, based on tape, could do that for sure. Williams could project in a lot of positions. After working with Wylie he could be a speed rusher off the edge or a LB in the 3-4. Hell look at Hightower at Alabama. Williams is very athletic and big. He is the type of player who could cause problems for OCs out there.

Personally, I think that would be a damm fine class, all things considered! I fully expect Dooley and Co. to have some unexpected surprises come NSD (ala Justin Hunter, Da'Rick Rogers, James Stone). We'll be fine.

Dude, Hubbs doesn't know everything.

Is that really your source every single time?

Considering he is right over 90% of the time yea I'd say he is a pretty good source. He is the best in the buisness.

He is being recruited as a WR & will practice there. He could get switched to DB thats a possibility yes but he is being recruited & coming in as a WR.

Exactly. That's all I'm saying. Wilcox was involved for a reason. He will be moved before his Soph season.

Hubbs is right about recruiting news 90% of the time... he doesn't know as much about personnel moves and where a player projects. He's a recruiting expert, not a coach.

What does FTR mean? I've seen it used by multiple people & I have'nt figured it out.

Dallas could be a heck of a DB with his speed & size at 6'0 180. They could use him at WR next season for depth then flip him over to DB his soph season like you said. I really like his speed.
