I think it will really depend on what kind of production we can get from the slot recievers behind Arnett. DeMario Williams & Zack Rogers really need to step up this offseason & cement themsevles at the slot.
I think the staff would love to sign 2 DE's but were just really short on numbers & are'nt in on any quality DE's right now besides Pagan & that one has become a hard pull.

I think they would take a JUCO DE if they can pull someone solid like Carradine. Also, I think DeMario Williams is more of an outside guy. I could be wrong about that, but he is 6'4 200 lbs so that's not really a typical slot receiver's measurables.
Yes that is bjg for the slot, but I see him being used there. Don't see him taking snaps away from JH,DR,or ZR next year on the outside, but they will want him on the field, so the slot should be the place, rotate him & Arnott.
About 2 of them will probably be asked to look else where on that list and another one will on his own. Three others will end up on that list that will turn a few heads.

IMO, the only must get positions atp are
TE (Clear)
OL (Richardson)
DT (Wright)
DB (Lanier)
After that, it is more important to sign the best 3-5 players we can get, regardless of position. So if we can get Pagan, we'll get a DE. If we can get Paul, we'll get a LB. If we can Bigelow, we'll get a RB. etc. I don't think any of the other positions are so urgent that we should take a lower quality player to fill a spot.

Only way Smith gets a fourth star is if he has a blow out All-Star game.
If Kerbyson and Randolph haven't gotten a fourth star yet, they aren't going to. Disappointing, yes, but just the truth.
If Smiths team continues to go deep into the state playoffs & he has a great showing in the games that could help bump him up.
Randolph WILL get a bump, as long as they see some Senior film on him which they have'nt yet.
The only stretch at getting the bump is Kerbyson but he has a better offer list than most 4* OL.
DeMario Williams is listed at 6'1 178lbs, thats perfect for a slot reciever.
I coached against him for 4 years in high school. He will be able to play the slot. His sole contribution would be as a jump ball WR on the perimeter. He does not have the quickness to play the slot. He really lacks the speed to play on the outside as well. Hope he can contribute as a red zone target.
I know we dont need a red zone jump ball WR. That is why I dont feel like we will get much contribution out of Williams. All these fans expecting big things out of him as this mysterious surprise basketball transfer are going to be disappointed.
