Yeah, he will get a shot at WR but the battle with Arnett at slot will eventually get him moved. Plus Wilcox wants him on his side of the ball anyway.

BTW, pretty solid picks.... I'd agree with just about all of it. I'm kinda worried about Bama with Richardson though. And I feel like we may sign 2 DEs.

I think it will really depend on what kind of production we can get from the slot recievers behind Arnett. DeMario Williams & Zack Rogers really need to step up this offseason & cement themsevles at the slot.

I think the staff would love to sign 2 DE's but were just really short on numbers & are'nt in on any quality DE's right now besides Pagan & that one has become a hard pull.

IMO, the only must get positions atp are
TE (Clear)
OL (Richardson)
DT (Wright)
DB (Lanier)

After that, it is more important to sign the best 3-5 players we can get, regardless of position. So if we can get Pagan, we'll get a DE. If we can get Paul, we'll get a LB. If we can Bigelow, we'll get a RB. etc. I don't think any of the other positions are so urgent that we should take a lower quality player to fill a spot.

I think they would take a JUCO DE if they can pull someone solid like Carradine. Also, I think DeMario Williams is more of an outside guy. I could be wrong about that, but he is 6'4 200 lbs so that's not really a typical slot receiver's measurables.

I really like the potential in Z. Rogers. I definitely agree that he is one of the guys that is really going to have to put in the time if he wants to see the field more. I think he should at a little more weight and become a little stronger, especially in his lower body.

Great list. Only things I would change:

Take off Dunaway, add mystery 5 star
Add Newberry at DE
Take off Loften (don't think he'll make it)
Add Bigelow

End up Number 9 in rankings, JMO.

Yes that is bjg for the slot, but I see him being used there. Don't see him taking snaps away from JH,DR,or ZR next year on the outside, but they will want him on the field, so the slot should be the place, rotate him & Arnott.

I think you will see a similar rotation to this year...

WR 1 - Hunter, D. Williams
WR 2 - D. Rogers, M. Milton
WR 3 (Slot) - Arnett, Z Rogers

For what we have returning this is how I see it shaking out. Beyond that, I think V. Dallas focuses on special teams as a Frosh (unless they feel they can RS him, but I doubt it). He could definitely find some snaps in the mix as well.

I just don't see arnett starting over zach Rogers. Not that I don't think he could but I don't think he will. JMHO.

About 2 of them will probably be asked to look else where on that list and another one will on his own. Three others will end up on that list that will turn a few heads.

I like it.

The OP was solid, but I really like the idea of the mystery recruits and there is a twinkle in the eye and a spring in the step of the coaches right now. They just need to win these next two and there will be a trickle of good news and also some backlash from some players who are moving somewhere else.

Oh Noes we are losing the class! will be spoken, and then come NSD people will be high fiving friends and kissing their women.

Only way Smith gets a fourth star is if he has a blow out All-Star game.

If Kerbyson and Randolph haven't gotten a fourth star yet, they aren't going to. Disappointing, yes, but just the truth.

DeMario Williams is listed at 6'1 178lbs, thats perfect for a slot reciever.

If Smiths team continues to go deep into the state playoffs & he has a great showing in the games that could help bump him up.

Randolph WILL get a bump, as long as they see some Senior film on him which they have'nt yet.

The only stretch at getting the bump is Kerbyson but he has a better offer list than most 4* OL.

Wasn't the Rivals analyst's excuse the last rankings upgrade that they don't take offer lists into consideration?

Out of the three I think Randolph is the most deserving. But with the new rating system this year I just don't see it happening.

Yes, which is stupid IMHO.

I coached against him for 4 years in high school. He will not be able to play the slot. His sole contribution would be as a jump ball WR on the perimeter. He does not have the quickness to play the slot. He really lacks the speed to play on the outside as well. Hope he can contribute as a red zone target.

Are you missing a not in the second sentence?

TN with Hunter and Rogers and even Milton needs a jump ball WR not at all.

I know we dont need a red zone jump ball WR. That is why I dont feel like we will get much contribution out of Williams. All these fans expecting big things out of him as this mysterious surprise basketball transfer are going to be disappointed.

The staff was quoted as saying they were impressed with his production and were bummed he had to sit a year. If you coached against him in HS, things can change you know... Sounds much improved to me according to the quotes from Dooley.
