Some on here want to claim Kiffin was such a bad coach, but yet this fanbase is in the exact position it was in 2009. We were pumped the hell up, just like in 2009. CBJ will embrace UT more than Kiffin (some say, including myself, he's already neared that point, if not passed it) and we will have a good season. This is a 7-5 team or better. Think about it folks, Kiffin comes in and gets the players, the fanbase and even ESPN pumped. Has one hell of a year his very first year and this is right after Fulmer had already "destroyed the program". This is gonna be a 2009 type year, if not better.

I wouldn't say Kiffin had one hell of a year but I'll agree with the rest.

The twist is we finally win a bowl game! It's been a long long time! GBO!!!

Went to the Ole Miss game in Oxford when Kiffin was here. Got smoked, didn't look like a helluva year from where I was sitting.

Didn't they(McClusters) have something silly like 300+ yards Rushing against us and Monty's D ???

Kiffin took a pre-season top ranked USC team who plays 2 decent teams a year and went 7-6

pretty sure we can all agree, suck...

Yeah, we got beat by Ole Miss, but what about the a** whoopings we layed on Georgia and SC? Also, traveling to Tuscaloosa, only to lose 12-10 to the eventual NATIONAL CHAMPS? I don't like what Kiffin did any more than the next person, but he brought excitement to the program. CBJ has brought just as much, if not more, and will do it with class instead of bs guaranteed victory tactics. That's what i like about this coaching staff, they're not gonna talk about it, they're gonna show it on the field and we're gonna be happy with how this season turns out.

I do agree with the idea that Butch and his coaching staff bring a fresh new excitement to the Hill for football. I think he is more of a "football coach" than anybody we've had since the early Fulmer years.

I was optimistic about Kiffin and his recruiting... but in hindsight (with a dash of homerism), I realize that Kiffin is mediocre. He might've pulled out a surprise or two a year, but games like the Ole Miss game are the games that would've prevented us from making our way back to the top.

A good coach wouldn't have taken a preseason #1 team out of the top-25. He might have an excuse if he told everyone that the expectations were unrealistic, but he actually fueled the flames by voting USC as #1.

this is what CBJ is doing so great, embracing UTs proud history and players and he seems to be a pretty good coach too,I'm really looking forward to this year

Preseason #1 to 7-6 with a Pac 12 schedule says otherwise.

They had no business being preseason #1, even if Saban had been their coach. However, they should have been a 9 or 10 win team. I'd say the expectations screwed them up a good bit. That said, here's to Kiffin's demise.

Kiffin is so arrogant he won't even let someone call the plays at USC on offense and it effects his in game management as a coach. His dad is NOT a college D coord, and he has no answer for screen and opinion plays. Tampa 2 defense doesn't work in college most the time, and his dad took the blame for last year and left USC to save his sons butt. Kiffin is an arrogant azz who has nothing to show for as a head coach. Jones and Kiffin shouldn't even be mentioned in the same universe as being similar coaches in terms of their attitudes, and anyone that tries to make that correlation should be butch slapped.
