I agree completely. I am not very happy with the way the team looked tonight, but absolutely nothing worked running that out of sync gameplan. When we ran plays the way we are used to, we scored in a flash. Two series, two TDs in less than 2.5 minutes.Totally agree. Josh clearly had a limited playbook today, this was about as unimaginative as you'll ever see a Heupel offense. But the team looked disinterested, clearly looking past a very feisty AP team. No excuse for the drops, missed tackles, and the sloppiness, and we just have to hope this acts a big time wake up call. I have to believe we'll see a completely different team next week.
Team might have been thinking all of this comes easily. Show up and everybody rolls over. My hope as well that it’s a wake up call and they’ll get it together against Florida. No excuse for that performance. I didn’t get to watch but it sounds like it was just as well that I didn’t.Totally agree. Nico is a true freshman. Milton has been in college for 5 years. I would have no issues with us only winning 6 maybe 7 games with Nico. I agree the WRs played bad. So did Milton.Say Milton gets benched in the Swamp and Nico struggles as well, what’s going to be the excuse?
The WRs should have made several catches from Milton tonight.
Corners look like Larry Slade is still on staff, either our talent out there is truly below SEC thresholds for that position or this guy can't coach corners that can play defense not looking at the receiver as he goes into his area, pass interference calls are becoming the norm and were plenty in the Orange Bowl in December, why no improvement in that area?
Defense as a whole is better, but we still have concerns in the secondary and within the linebacker ranks that will get expensive in the SEC conference schedule, we need to understand our schemes are just that schemes, we will with better talent, more aggressive players and those that are game day playmakers,
I think we can say we played terrible and say the play calling was bad in the same sentence after tonight. Will they get better? Time will tell but I've certainly seen better schemes from heupel compared to the last two gamesGotta love how every single year the playbook is always “closed” or “vanilla” because we’re hiding something from our future competition when we struggle. Every year.
First I’m not ready to throw in the towel on Milton yet. That said though if he struggles versus Florida this year we pretty much know what we have in him. Nico may struggle if he has to play, he probably will. At some point (and I believe it’s against a bad Florida team if we struggle) we have to stop making excuses for Joe. If he can’t win in the swamp this year he’s probably not the guy to lead this team.Say Milton gets benched in the Swamp and Nico struggles as well, what’s going to be the excuse?

The conservative calling works against AP but it won't against the SEC. Everyone acknowledges that Milton has to improve but so do the receivers.Play-calling was suspect, but we clearly tried to do things and open it up in the 1st quarter and it just didn’t work. I just think the “we’re playing vanilla” excuse that you hear literally every year is comical. It isn’t some always grand conspiracy where we have a playbook in a safe hidden at the bottom of the Mariana Trench to make sure our opponents don’t know our true playbook before the game.
Personally speaking, today was an absolute shock. Did not expect to see this program struggle bs my little hometown college. We got straight up pushed around on the field. That’s a gut punch and I can see how some would pump the brakes. We are 2-0 and some of you are calling for building for the future. Let’s hurry up and throw in the towel as quickly as we can. Just go ahead and create a culture of panic and give up ASAP.
