He's blind in one eye? If so, to make light of it and use a football term,

Call him "single-eye"/"single-I" (formation)

I have a golden that's nearly 2 years old. The first few months can be demanding going through maturation and the puppy stage, but the rewards are great. It's the best dog I've ever had, and I'll always get a golden in the future. She is roughly 75 pounds now.

Way to go on the adoption. Don't watch Marely and Me... you'll cry. I have a lab/golden mix who is 11 this year and my wife and I balled our eyes out at the end of the movie.

How about Scab?

meaning...

1. a protective crust that covers a wound during healing (which it sounds like you and your wife are experiencing)
2. a worker who takes the place of another (think Replacements - football movie) which he would be by replacing your previous pet

and 3. he has his own scars he's healing from

That looks like a "Chief" to me.....or a "Hoss".

All y'all talking about losing your "furbabies" breaks my heart. Lost my best buddy Boomer (Mastiff/Lab mix) on Valentines Day. Cancer got him. First time I've cried in years, and I couldn't be there to say goodbye to him.

I like Chief. Good dog name and alludes to UT player/former coach

The newest addition to our household. We can't decide what to name him. We need suggestions, VOLS or Game of Thrones related preferably. But we're open to anything.

Already considered and excluded:
Peyton
Manning
Neyland
Stark
Butch
Tyrion

Ok go!!

Bodhi.

....he looks like a Bodhi.

My Golden (female) is named Roxy Quicksilver.
I would say a name ending with a "y" is nice.
Maybe "Rocky".
Being vision impaired kind of hits on the underdog, no pun intended, like Rocky Balboa.

I have always had boxers and they never really mature, especially the males. lol. :eek:lol:

Our current is named Xander.

Edit- Xander works because for guys they can say it's Xander Cage from Triple X and women always equate the name to some guy on some vampire chick flick.

We settled on Sutton. Thanks for the input everyone.

She said we can't name him after a UT player (even though I wanted to). Then she was looking up dog names. And she enthusiastically said "what about Sutton! It means "from the south land". So I agreed and we settled on Sutton.

Not named after a player at all :whistling:

Interesting name lol. I'd call him Cam for short! (but don't tell your wife why)

Just wait until you're sitting there, watching a game at home, and the announcer says "OH AND ITS PICKED OFF BY SUTTON! THERE HE GOES DOWN THE SIDELINE...TOUCHDOWN CAM SUTTON!"

The "aw crap" your wife will utter will be absolutely priceless.
