NASCAR bans the confederate flag

I had to look up his record. He drove the 6 Roush Ford and no wins but 35 top tens in 85 starts. He was solid and was with Roush after their peak I watched him race several times live mostly at Bristol. He normally wears a UT hat and for his announcement song at Bristol I remember him coming out to Rocky Top once. He’s ok in my book.

Stenhouse had better equipment and did mostly less with it than Wallace did at Cup level. I think you need to see Wallace in a better car to have a good gauge. Look at Matt Dibenitto for a similar driver to Wallace. He’s now in the Quicklane 21 and running well and will win a race soon. Wallace doesn’t have the same level of equipment in the Petty Chevy I think.

I’m not gonna try and tell someone who to or not to pull for. That said I would’ve had much more respect for him had he not went out of his way to start pulling the race card.

He was on twitter about this several times and nothing since it came out to be nothing to it. He was of course on the view then the way he acted yesterday pretending to tear up and all. He played the Hollywood victim part well. He thought he was going to get to one up the likes of kap and baby bron bron.
Do you follow the sport at all or know anything about him?

He didn’t find this. NASCAR made the decision and told him about it.

And I watched the race. He was fine. I can understand being emotional.

Pryor played the lead in the movie mostly based on Wendell Scott’s career. Forget the name.

Greased Lightning.

Me and few buddies went to Martinsville for a race in the late 70’s. We stayed in Danville, VA, Wendell’s home town. We found him in the phone book and called him. He came to our hotel the next morning and we spent half a day with him at his house/shop. Met his wife who served us a snack. Most notable racing experience of my life. He seemed delighted that some teenagers would know who he was and want to meet him.

I didn’t see what you’re referring to so I don’t really know. He’s always come across as more level headed than that and know to not pull that I would think. I’ll go look it up.

That’s awesome.

Now that is a cool story.

I don’t, I think it’s only slightly more boring that baseball, NBA and soccer.

I understand he didn’t find it, I also bet he was shown a pic or explained to him what it was. He recently came out with commie BLM stuff on his car and also came out to get the confederate flag banned so I’m thinking he saw this as an opportunity to play the victim.

Are you defending him so much simply because he’s a UT fan?

No. They said it's been there for months, and coincidentally this happened to be Wallace's stall.

You are a truly FOS! When the article was posted earlier today you seemed to dismiss it....when it posted pics of the pull handle from last year and it missing on Sun.

I’m saying he didn’t ask for this best as I can tell and have read. It appears to have been thrust upon him. Hell i don’t know how I would have acted. I am a fan of the team he drove for in Xfinity and drives for in Cup. And I am a fan of his yes. Repping UT as he always has is just bonus.

I didn’t see any of the race card stuff C South mentioned

That’s awesome.

He had not raced in awhile but still had some old cars sitting around. Very modest garage of course. This was around the time that the movie was made and he gave us some autographed promo photos from the movie. He was given a chance to drive one of the better cars at Charlotte once, maybe a Harry Hyde car. He told us it wasn’t really as competitive as it was supposed to be.

Wallace, NASCAR and the drivers really didn’t do anything but stand back as this all happened.
Oh Really? This was going to be painted anyway?
