Nashville Restaurants

Big fan of Oscars Taco Shop when I want Mexican. After living in San Diego I really missed the So Cal style of Mexican food. Their carne asada is on point.

They just opened one of those in Fairview. I'm pretty excited about it.

Ok Folks. myself and the better half will be celebrating our anniversary in november in nashville. we will do the Opry. something I've always wanted to do. but. I'm looking for a nice restaurant that say will cost no more than a 100 for the both of us in nashville. thanks

The foodies and hipsters will not like this suggestion but since you will presumably be in the Opryland area, I'd suggest Cock of Walk. There is a reason they have stayed in business over there for 30-something years. If that is not romantic enough, try Margot Café in East Nashville right off Gallatin Rd. which is easy access to Briley Pkwy. for getting to the Opry House but you will have to make a reservation now to eat there in November (may already be too late).

If you are going to see the Opry at the Ryman and not the Opry House, check The Southern Steak and Oyster although that one will cost you more than $100 if you're drinking much alcohol. Un-Nashville chain suggestion downtown is Melting Pot where they have a very cozy, romantic setting that will run about $100 for two without alcohol.

The Southern.

I had a class in Antioch this weekend at the Tristar Sim Center and tried a few places.

Alshami was a Middle Eastern place that had good Koffta and the schwarma was pretty decent as well.

Hot Stuff was a decent enough Hot chicken and fish joint too.

I do like Gabby's but I guess I'm old school because too me there are really only two options for best burger in town, Browns and Rotiers. It's the same way with hot chicken. You either like Princes or Boltons. If you say Hattie Bs or some other joint is your favorite then (a) you really don't know anything about hot chicken and (b) you haven't been here long enough for your opinion to mean anything to anyone other than the other noobs. I'm ready for some other place to be the it city so some of the crowd will clear out and we can start working on assimilating the rest into OUR culture.

I checked Brown's out. Very good, simple burger. I can definitely see how someone that has gone for years could be partial to it.

Attaboy had some amazing drinks.

Just like its NYC location, they don't have a menu. Pretty interesting.
