Nashville Teacher messing with 2nd grader UT Fan

Since UT kids went in first ,she's alluding that they're women?! Haha dude, I'm pretty sure no 2nd grader would connect those dots.

How is this teasing?!? Hell the parent isn't even mad about it....It's like you're fishing for something to be pissed off about.

I had a grade school teacher who was a USCjr grad...we constantly ribbed each other.

Thank you for recognizing my selfless work...which of course is attempting to make the world see things in my perspective, The correct perspective....

/not an iota of sarcasm.
Promoting division amongst kids in school is really something that we can do without. IDK about fired but I would make sure this teacher never even thought about pulling anything close to this again.

Funny. I help coach a swim team and told the kids they would all get cotton candy at a christmas party if they all did a drill right and they nailed it. After practice one of the kids had a Alabama shirt on and I said the only way he would get cotton candy was if he if he wore orange to the next practice!

I'm not even going to address how sad it is that this incident would evoke the outrage of the board, but there's a fallacy at the heart of the story... Nashville is about 50% UT, 45% other SEC fans (UGA, Bama, Barn, Ole Miss), and maybe 5% Vanderbilt on a good day. Having been to games at Vanderbilt's stadium more recently than most on this board, I'd have to believe that 90% of the remaining kids outside have no affiliation or admiration for Vanderbilt as a school or its athletic program... Come on, now...

And seriously, I don't remember having to line up outside of school before the day began. Especially in biting-cold weather. What kind of ridiculous institution are you sending your child to if he has to line up outside the building with a winter storm advisory looming? I can't tell if this story is real or just an elaborate ruse.

It's all true, UT Hill Man. However, I don't think anything malicious was meant by it. I don't have a problem with what the teacher did. I was just mentioning the story to show how proud I am of my son already becoming a devoted Vols fan.

Your son could always remind all the Vanderbilt fans in his class, including the teacher, that we are 71 and 11 against Vandy since 1928. Not too shabby. And, even broken clocks are right twice a day.

Go Vols.

I'm a teacher and I tell every kid wearing a Bama, Georgia, vandy, Florida, or auburn article of clothing that they're out of dress code. Nothing wrong with light hearted teasing, especially since most of them fire back at me 10x worse about how Tennessee sucks.

You should be fired.

No place for tomfoolery in the classroom.

Some of you need to find other things to get worked up (and start threads) about.

you teach 2nd grade? sounds like your students are older and can take it, if so then light hearted teasing may be just alittle bit different.....:twocents:
