Nashville Teacher messing with 2nd grader UT Fan

Thundarr,

I’m a teacher too, and you are so full of crap. Kids respond to teachers who build personal relationships with them. The teacher was being engaging. The kid just took it wrong. Kids do that. It was a valuable learning experience for the child, a teachable moment. The parent handled it perfectly. You need to come down off your high horse. Not every kid is grade motivated, yet you can still get a lot out of these kids if you can show them you care about them and that you're not just some robot consumed with test scores.

Read this article, and please don't have any kids of your own for all our sakes.

Are We Raising a Generation of Helpless Kids? | Mickey Goodman

Truth. Building relationships and trust is the most important thing we can do as teachers. A lot of my students have terrible home situations and look forward to school because there are people there who care about them. It makes all the difference. If you develop that relationship then they will WANT to learn from you and then your test scores go up. Crazy how that works. Keep on keepin on my brother. Teaching is not just about the subject matter we teach.

You just don't seem to have good composure

Just because I don't bury my head in the sand and sing Butch Jones and Josh Dobbs lullabyes in my sleep doesn't mean squat about my composure. Nice try though Dr. Phil. Also, as much as I hate to say this....any idiot can be a teacher...a good one however is rare. What thus teacher did was just about building rapport with his students....nothing harmful whatsoever. However, we live in a sissified overly politically correct country. I have worked in Asian nations before where teachers and adults literally get onto students punish them for being over weight....so it sounds silly hearing a kid cry over this crap.

This thread is a perfect example of the difference in education. Tennessee fans are saddened about football. Those vandy kids went home and probably cried about making a low A in an advanced mathematics course. Let's focus on education first, football second.

Go Vols

Vfl.

Sounds like you want them to become Vandy fans.

I don't have my head buried in anything. You have zero composure and are an emotional basketcase here. Hell, lets burn Rileys redshift against ky. Great thought process, if you are a dumbass.

You are the one acting overly emotional blurring profanities and making petty personal insults. I have more composure in my pinky than you do entirely.

And this is what I am talking about with your head being in the sand....its a simple rule...always always play your best players. If Riley is really any good, odds are he is out of here before his senior year rendering the lost redshirt year meaningless.

Not to mention if he is healthy and can actually complete passes, then he needs to play because there is a decent chance we lose with Dobbs in there and it will be one of the worst UT losses ever....why you ask...it will be the first time we ever lost to Vandy and Kentucky in the same year since I have been watching football....it will be the first 4 win season..ever???!!! And it will all be tied into Butchs name. And negative recruiting....a record setting loss in many ways...something Dooley the worst UT coach ever never even accomplished....it would be catastrophic....you play to win EVERY game and burning an unproven players red****t pales in comparison to losing to Kentucky....do like I said before...please remove thy head from sand...

I don't know about that.
I've seen Spart make a 15 foot put for the win and a years worth of bragging rights over other VN posters. He's not easily rattled.

He may have been high though.

Well, I dont know him, but I do know that he like others are severely underestimating what a loss to Kentucky and Vandy in the same 4 win season would be like......huge media sh%t storm for our first year coach....also, the whole burning the redshirt concern is nothing but irrational passive panicking...play the best players always and .never put one guy or his future over the other players/current team including the seniors who should go .out with a last.win...

I'm too busy blurring profanities. And that was comp on the putt anyway.
One thing for sure is I don't need advice from that dude. About anything.
At all. Unless I need help freaking out.

Burning a redshirt for the Kentucky game would make me question Jones more than a loss to Kentucky starting Dobbs would.

You are the one freaking out over a silly redshirt. You are basically saying Fergy's redshirt is more important than this CURRENT entire team and its players. Like i said man, you might be a decent golf player, but you have no business calling any one out about composure when you are too scared to burn one player's redshirt who if good will likely be gone in 2 or at tops 3 years anyways. I would bet all of my money you were also panicking when Dooley burned Worely's redshirt..hahahahaha...yep that really hurt us, just like burning Bray's redshirt as well who left early for the draft. In football the general rule is you always play your best players unless a special circumstance is deemed to be detrimental to the CURRENT team.

A great teacher once said, and coaches have repeated, "don't worry about the battles. Worry about the war". This is a time where that comes into play. We can beat ky without him and you have zero idea if he could come in and lead the team to a win. There is zero reason any logical mind would burn his rs today. Illogical and flat out stupid idea. I didn't care about Worleys as it wasn't the last game of the year, so give me your cash. I'm sure you foresaw Peterman coming in looking like he'd never played qb before as well.

You are so wrong on this that I'm beginning to think its a joke. Sacrifice a year of eligibility of your future qb for maybe 10-12 passes against ky. Ridiculous and done with the debate.
