Nathan Peterman, The Forgotten QB

Does it make you feel good inside to write off people as soon as you see an opportunity? And he was a teenager.
Wonder why that is.

I'm sure Peterman kept that Florida game in the back of his mind all season long and during camp this year. There's no better motivation than proving thousands of people wrong. So if The coaches decide Peterman is the man for the job, he has my full support until he proves otherwise

I'm behind the QB that works the hardest and improves over time. If that's Peterman then so be it

Peterman is motivated and if he keeps up the hard work, he will be starting sooner rather than later.

Dear Mouthbreathers:

I know none of you have ever botched an opportunity because you're not really good at anything except eating cheetos in Mom's basement. So in the spirit of goodwill to even the lowest common denomenator I will break this down for ya all science like:

Kid screwed up, big time. Rather than go cry in a corner he worked his butt off to improve. That's what happens when you have talent and work hard... you get better.

Is he good enough to win in the SEC? Time will tell. But consider this... if you judged a certain former starting UT QB off one start in The Swamp you'd have made a massive mistake.

I hope your wives/significant others don't judge you only on your worst moments.

Strap up, son! Let's see you get out there and not choke in the Swamp.

Because you are obviously good at EVERYTHING the first time you tried it....

R u guys serious? Dude choked at fla n u can cover up for him n say he was injured but he choked.. Even running the base off..

He may have talent but most good qbs don't get an oppt n blow it. Make 1 or 2 mistakes sure but choke like that n he is not going to win many games..or come back n be an above avg qb during a game. Sorry

Worley or Dobbs is our best chance..

IMO...

Jonathan Crompton is proof that your statements are incorrect.

Good post and there have been many QB's from UT and many other schools who have struggled in their first start and went on to have very successful careers. I for one am rooting for the kid to prove all the nay sayers wrong.

Peterman does have some quick acceleration after hopping up off the field on his booty...great for the read option...you can see why Butch recruited him to Cincinatti...still pulling for him.

After all....even the greatest QB's have epic fail games...Manning has had several...glad he believes what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

If he wins the starting spot it will just prove again that hard work and dedication pays off. I am so glad to see a young man work hard to get what he wants! We have too much "quit" in America these days.

I'm happy for the kid . He didn't let that game destroy his confidence , and that's a trait I think everyone wants in their QB . That will to not give up when everything seems to be going against you is extremely important in a starting QB IMO

My point is more QB's than Petermen have struggled in the swamp and if you think Manning had his best games there then I am embarrassed for you.

My bad. I forgot about that time Peyton had four turnovers and threw for five yards in the first half against a terrible Florida team.

Losing to NC caliber Florida teams doesn't come close to what happened in Gainesville last year.
Nobody is saying we hope Peterman doesn't turn it around. You've just got to keep it real, and comparing him to the best QB ever is just asinine.
I've written music, but never won a Grammy. Guess I'm similar to Jimi Hendrix.

I am sorry I was not trying to compare Peterman to Manning just that even some of the best have had bad days in the swamp and while that was a bad Florida team last year the atmosphere in that stadium is still intimidating.

I am not sure Peterman is the answer but I sure hope he is as I believe if the QB can manage the game and not get us beat we have a chance to be pretty good.

I hate to be that guy but it's hard to take you seriously when you can't type full words that are only 2-3 letters long. This isn't a tweet or old school text message that limits your characters.

Sorry if I'm coming across as a jerk. It's just a pet peeve of mine.

So for the times Peyton Manning choked in the Swamp should he not have been given a second chance. Give the guy a break he had one tough game in the Swamp as a RS Freshman.

You're comparing Peyton throwing for 492 ydas and the team finding a way to lose to Peterman turning the ball over 4 times in less than a half?

Really can't believe y'all are comparing Peyton playing well and the team falling short to what we some from Peterman in that half.

Also those late 90's florida teams won championships. Last years florida team went 4-8

I'm a huge Peyton fan, but he didn't walk on water, sorry. I may be wrong, but I think he threw 3 or 4 int in that Florida loss. Those UT teams of that era played for championships also. He wasn't surrounded by scrubs playing against elite players
