I can attest to those prices. My dad owns a farm that I work on and we just got through planting about 15 acres of corn. It cost about $1500 to plant. Last year it cost about $450. Beef, pork, and chicken prices are going to increase dramatically

Yep, my Dad and brother are going through the same ish. Doubt the farm makes it another 2-3 years.

Small farmers aren't going to be able to make it in this market now unless they have a lot of backing from other people. It's just not worth it anymore to barely scrape by but that has been an issue for decades. I haven't seen fertilizer prices this high in my 15 years of working on his farm. It's going to be a problem

It's a huge problem. If our corn yield suffers from lack of fertilizer then they'll be forced to purchase more feed, sell off some cattle or have lower milk production. None are good options. Hopefully the rains stay steady and they can get a couple extra cuttings of hay this summer. A dry summer and the farm will be in trouble.

I'm in Florida in the motorhome. Had to run the debit card twice to fill it up. $345 later I was on the road again. And.... it wasn't empty. Had a half a tank when I went to put diesel in it.

The guy that moves my widgets has a small trucking company. He has his own tank and gets weekly deliveries. He's spending $20K/week. I asked him if I could come down and fill up the MH before I left (he's done that in the past and I pay him his cost which is lower than at the pump). He said he'll no! It's going up again next week. I waited until I got to GA. It was $.30 cheaper in GA anyway.
