National Championship Game Thread TCU VS UGA

Who’s blaming him for how he’s getting it done… we’re just providing some detail on how TN & FL have made the path a little easier. Not hiring the best coaches has hurt TN and Florida’s recruiting. It’s a fact

And I agree with you on Stetson. I’ll never understand the digs at him…all he does is win. Too many get caught up in the star gazing.

It’s not star gazing, he’s just an ego strutting goober that is surrounded by 5-stars playing an absolutely horrid garbage of a schedule. He needs a dose of reality and humility.

If he were more humble and stopped with the gloating after every TD his story would be much more likeable.

I don’t disagree with you on him being unlikeable.

Heupel and Napier had more of a challenging “rebuild” than Smart inherited.

So yes, he’s never had to rebuild a program from scrap.

I get it.

However, Georgia's played football for 130 years and they've never been as good as they are right here, right now.

On 12 team playoff you will get a blowout from time to time in early rounds but I feel that the 2 teams that do navigate to the Natty game will put up a good show. JMO

You still can have awful matchups in the finals. There are still years where the Super Bowl features one team just waxing a team that matches up poorly against them.

I know but given the circumstances around him and UGAs schedule, I temper the “all he does is win” accolades.

He’s a good QB, no doubt. But I find it hard to believe he wins as much as he does at any other team not named Bama.

To be fair, after Texas and Oklahoma leave the conference is gradually going to become more or less a slightly higher version of what the American Athletic Conference is now.

I think all the teams moving conferences is kind of premature. Particularly USC and UCLA. Especially since 6 conference champions will get spots in the expanded CFP. that leaves everyone else fighting for 6 spots.

Georgia has such a cake schedule next year 🤮
Maybe Rocky the Squirrel and his Lamecocks can pull one off in Athens first thing 🤷‍♂️

Fair, but they’re not leaving because “Conference X gives them a better chance at playing in a national championship” though. It’s entirely a looming, growing financial gap between the bigger names/markets that bring in more money. And no one wants to be left behind as the new mid-major level teams…which a giant yearly financial difference will eventually do.

It's not exactly easy no matter how you slice it to get from 9 wins to national titles.

In general, that is hard. I agree.

But conventional wisdom has been for years prior that Georgia was a sleeping giant. The right coach came along…. I’m still a little curious if he could pull a Bill Snyder at Kansas State, though.

Just like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop - the world may never know. I’m sure he’s a good coach.

Cheers to grown-a$$ men barking times 1,000 after B2B titles. As Spurrier likes to say, “It is what it is”.

TBH, at this point kinda irritated UGA had a coverage bust on TCU’s scoring drive. Go all in on the mudstomping.

By the way, to show how some things are universal.....

Checked out Ohio State and Michigan boards and several are convinced that the SEC and its relationship with ESPN influenced officiating to create this matchup and make sure an SEC team won the national title.
