National Guard deployed to Philadelphia

I was thinking that the Virginia (Merrimack) sank a couple or 3 Union wood sided ships, and the Monitor came in the next day and they bounced some rounds off each other. I apparently have forgotten what happened later.
Yeah one of them engaged traditional wooden hulled ships and sunk or damaged them then the next day I believe they rolled out both heavy weights and it was Godzilla vs Mothra fought to a draw. Then much later upon leaving the area one of them sank in high seas. I think it was the low freeboard one. There was a show recently where they either raised it or HD filmed it.

The Merrimack (Virginia) was destroyed by Confederate soldiers when the Union took over the port at Norfolk, Virginia in 1862. The Monitor sank during a storm off the coast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina on December 31, 1862. The wreck of the Monitor was located in 1973 and some of the ship was salvaged.

Trying to wait on the Black Friday deals. More BANG for the bucks. You make a great point.

Prices are going up by the day for guns and ammo.....if you can find any. I doubt there will be any Black Friday deals on either but maybe for accessories like optics, cases, mags, etc.

Philadelphia man, 60, killed during carjacking in driveway: ‘Total disregard for human life’

Carjackings in Philadelphia year-to-date up 152% versus year prior, police say

The family of a Philadelphia man and Marine veteran who was shot dead during a carjacking outside his mother’s house over the weekend say the killing shows a "total disregard for human life" as crime continues to surge in the city's streets.

George Briscella, 60, was in the driveway at his mother’s house on the 2100 block of Afton Street just after 8 p.m. Sunday when three men approached him and fired three shots from an AR-15-style rifle, Philadelphia police said Monday during a news conference.

Wallace, who struggled with mental health issues, was shot Monday by two officers responding to a domestic call about someone with a weapon. He was armed with a knife and refused to drop it, police said. Each officer fired approximately seven rounds, officials said.

These damn domestic calls... I'm not sure who to blame... The family and friends have to know by now that if you call the cops, they are going to kill someone that is mentally ill and armed. On the other hand, cops should seriously reconsider getting involved in domestic calls. Let these people handle it and/or just come around after the fact and clean up the mess.

It was a mostly peaceful car jacking

Then they would be blamed for doing nothing. They get it wrong sometimes for sure. But in today's climate they're damned if the do or don't.

That would be far better than getting involved in a lot of these domestic calls. I just don't mean domestic calls coming from the hood, either.

No it wouldn't, when the husband murders wife the headlines would trade police failed to protect wife from abusive husband.
