No details yet other than a late night raid by Navy Seals. 3 pirates dead one wounded and no word on if the Captain was injured but he is alive.

I love the fact that the USA did not barter with these termites of the earth.

sweet - I hope we didn't violate the civil rights of the pirates.

I recognize the sarcasm, but when you put the word "hope" in the post you are on a whole other level. the only thing missing was "change". Truly masterful.:salute:

Apparently there is one prisoner.

Also, it sounds like the captain jumped overboard again and this time the Navy took advantage of the opening. That captain is truly a survivor.

I was wondering how this would be spun into a joke or insult at Obama. No bias on this board.

Actually, I was not referring to Obama with my comments but instead the whining class that squeals about the civil rights of criminals at the expense of victims' rights.

now let's see if he has the stones to tackle the larger problem the pirates pose to international commerce.

Right, no bias from you at all. :eek:lol:

When asked by a reporter about the Maersk Alabama during a White House event, President Obama responded to the question with: "Guys, we're talking about housing right now,"

John Kerry called for hearings, Hillary Clinton voiced her "concern" and cackled uproariously about the situation during a press conference with the Moroccan Ambassador,

The dress sword Marine officers carry is modeled on the Mameluke sword an Arab prince presented to Lt. O'Bannon after the victory.

Actually, I was not referring to Obama with my comments but instead the whining class that squeals about the civil rights of criminals at the expense of victims' rights.

Oh, you mean Obama's base support?? :)

Nice to hear. Maybe they should run a few bait boats through there with armed men on board, take out the rest of the trash.

i heard on a non political radio show this morning that some ppl were upset that we used such force. What do you think our grandfathers and fathers would've done back in the day? we are nothing compared to them. in all honesty i wish we were as brutal as they were.

he did, he has asked the UN to make a STRONG WORDED RESOLUTION CONDEMNING the pirates. As with all un resolutions, it should stop the problems 120%.

Bravo Navy Seals!!

3 head shots, 3 Kills!

Can you imagin being the capitan after hearing 3 thuds around you?

I would get up and scream... "F-you, F-You, F-You, I am out!"

or break into his best imitation of Peter Stormare, "Oh snap! Navy seals in da house!"

Apparently, the pirates have vowed revenge. This via MSN news.

Somali Pirates Vow Revenge After U.S., French Commando Raids - Bloomberg.com

“France and the U.S. will encounter unforgettable lessons,” Mohamed Hashi Yasin, a self-declared pirate spokesman, said by mobile phone from the port town of Eyl. “We will treat every country as they treat us.”

Yasin said pirates are angered by the U.S. operation because talks were underway to release Phillips.

“The Americans broke the peace process and killed our teenagers aggressively,” Yasin said. “They tricked us and opted out of the peace deal.”

Talks With Elders

Yasin’s version of events agreed with that of Ecoterra, an East African environmental group. In an e-mail, it said negotiations between elders in Somalia and the U.S. Navy were stalled because the Americans insisted on arresting the pirates, while the elders refused but promised to punish them themselves.

I understand that we are strongly considering hammering them on their land bases as well. I'm stoked, except for the nasty little part where the pirates' share of aggregate income might take a beating.

Uh huh. You do seem overly worried about that.
