NBA players in saturday's game

I'll bet anyone that wants to take the wager that Doneal Mack and Antonio Anderson both spend more time on an NBA roster than Chris Lofton.

Anderson for sure, Mack very likely as well and I'll throw Jeff Robinson the frosh in there as well. Rose and Dorsey will be drafted this coming season and CDR will if he continues to play the way he has into the NCAA's. Tyler is the only lock for the Vols, with the development of Chism and Ramar pending. I think we have a future pro in Cam Tatum redshirting as well. May be a bold statement, but he has a ton of potential, probably the second best prospect on the roster IMO.

Ramar is going to have to improve.

I like the guy and he doesn't really do anything stupid but it's pre-mature to say he'll be a great pro.

He's 6-1 and can't shoot.

I guess my first post was too harsh tho. :)

I will guarantee you right here and now Ramar makes it in the Association.

No argument from me that TS is a sure thing to play in the next level, but would we agree that he is going to have to substantially improve his outside game to be an *effective* pro?

I agree, but he will improve his shot. It may take a couple of seasons, but when you're at the professional level you get every opportunity to make yourself the best player possible. Tyler has decent mechanics on his shot, meaning with 500 or so a day he will make himself a good outside shooter. It's all about putting the work in. If he's willing to do that, and he should for the amount he'll be paid, he'll make a fine NBA 3-man. Not saying an all-star but he can be a starter and a nice player. A cross between Josh Howard and Jeff Green is the best case scenario.

I agree. I've always said Lofton will not make an NBA team.

He will most definitely make an NBA roster.

It's whether he sticks around or not that is debatable. I think he'll be gone within 2 years of riding the pine.

He'll most likely sit a season or two on the bench of an NBA team, getting little to no PT then head overseas.

No. At best he is a late second round pick with no guaranteed contract. He'll be cut and head off to Europe before he sits on an NBA bench for two years.

If Reddick can sit on an NBA bench Lofton can. Lofton is a better shooter, and can create for himself rather than having to have screens continually set up for him.

He'll be lucky to make it past the summer league. He's one of my favorite UT players but he is not an NBA player.

That seems to work well for Rip Hamilton and Reggie Miller.

What position is Lofton going to play?

He won't play. But he'll be listed as a PG probably due to his size. He has gotten better at handling the ball and passing this year.

Like I said, he'll ride the pine then get cut eventually and head overseas.

This is wrong in every way. Redick is a better shooter than Lofton, has more range, is taller, more athletic, and better off the dribble. While I can not stand Redick, I am a realist and know that he is a better overall basketball player than Chris Lofton, period.

1) Reddick is taller, yes

2) Reddick is not a better shooter than Lofton.

3) Reddick is not better off the dribble.

4) Reddick can't create for himself.

1) Redick has one "D"

2.)Redick is the all-time leading scorer in the top basketball conference in the country.

3.)Redick was the National Player of the Year

4.)Redick was a lottery pick. Lofton wont be drafted most likely.

I wish it weren't true, but it is. He had back trouble prior to leaving Duke which has set him back, and Stan Van Gundy wants defense from the 2guard position in Orlando. Because he has been somewhat of a flop in the pros people and the season Durant had, people forget how good this guy was in college. I hate Duke with a passion, but this guy is a flat out better basketball player than Chris Lofton.

None of those four points say anything about Redick being a better basketball player than Lofton.

CDR will be an outstanding pro player, especially if he can keep developing his outside shot. He will bulk up a bit, and everybody said KD's weakness was upper body strength and he will easily be rookie of the year this year.
