Remind me again how good Rajon Rondo's jumper was when he bolted Lexington.

Good point. So are you a believer that Ramar will only be in Knoxville for one more season? Or do you see him staying through his senior year?

And in reality... how many players like Rondo actually find a role on an NBA team?

clowers,
Don't get me wrong man I'm not saying CDR will ever be on KD's level, I was just makin the upper body comparison. I agree with the first rounder and decent career whenever he decides to come out, and KD will be a Hall of Famer some day.

I hear ya. Like I said, I was just being difficult. It's what I do.

Read: How many mediocre players get three possible Hall of Famers like KG, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen dropped in their lap?

I would be very disappointed if Ramar Smith sees his senior season at Tennessee.

Ok, edit to say three non-egotistical hall of famers who care more about winning than themselves

NBA rosters are filled with guys whose primary responsibilities are to distribute the ball, rebound, and guard their man.

I understand that. I've just never watched Ramar play and thought, "There's a future NBA PG." Ramar has the rebounding and defense thing down pat, but he has to improve his ball-handling and shooting. He is a decent passer, but he could improve is that category as well.

Ramar won't be that lucky, haha.

Lofton will not make an NBA roster. Period.

Ramar and Tyler Smith are locks. Chism probably gets some bench time in the NBA. However, I am surprised that no one is talking about JP Prince. He easily has the raw talent to succeed in the NBA he just needs a lot of development. I see him developing his game over the next two years and being a late first round pick.

Neither Piece nor Allen is likely to be in the Hall of Fame, but they are two of the best players in the league that I would put into the "Superstar, not good enough to win a championship as the lead man" category.

I don't see how Ramar is a lock. Just a month or so ago he had his spot taken by Jordan Howell. Now, one 19pt game and he's a lock to play in the league? He has a lot of potential, but there are a lot of requisite point guard skills that he needs to sure up right now. Understanding of tempo, time and score situations, free throw shooting, initiation of the offense. He very well could be a great one, but he by no means is there yet.

I don't remember the last time we discussed the subject. Refresh my memory.

It was a while back. I believe it was when the discussions of J.P. to Tennessee had just started. You said he was one of the most overrated players in his recruiting class. Overall, you just didn't think it was a good idea Pearl allow him to transfer to UT.

I think your main beef with him was that all the hype that surrounded him in high school was because he's tall and can dribble. I can agree with that. He doesn't have a jump shot, but he can definitely slash through the lane and finish some difficult shots.

Has anything changed?

6'7" and athletic isn't a free pass to the NBA any longer. JP can't shoot, has the mental strength of a spaniel, makes atrocious decisions, appears lazy, doesn't focus, isn't much of a team player, doesn't board and plays little D. If he gets there, he will make one of the bigger turnarounds in UT history.
