NBA players in saturday's game

memphis breakdown:

cdr, dorsey, and rose are locks.

anderson is a bruce bowen / randy brown type player = all defense. if a team sees fit, he will make a roster.

dozier = will make an nba roster. it has been said numerous times in the memphis media and by some national media sources, as well as calipari himself, that dozier has the strongest upside for being an nba player. his height (6'9") is great, and it's his wingspan (over 7'3") that attracts a lot of nba recruiters.

jeff robinson - highly touted national high school recruit, and will see his development long-term under calipari.

mack/kemp/taggart - toss-ups, but if earl barron (on the heat's roster - and already an nba champion) can make it, then one of these guys could as well.

so basically everyone on memphis is headed to the nba?

might as well play the grizzlies eh?

three players are locks for this year. dozier might opt out, but he is nba bound. anderson is nba bound if a team needs the style of play he brings to the table.

re-read what i wrote, carefully.

Ok here is a breakdown for you:

Marcus Haislip and Vincent Yarborough were more talented than anyone on this team (except you could argue Tyler Smith is just as talented). They both started on NBA teams for a while, but where are they now?

Lofton is the next SEC Player of the year to not even get drafted (Ron Slay).

If Jajuan Smith or Wayne Chism make an NBA Roster that would be like Ross Perot winning an election.

Tyler and Ramar have the highets NBA stock, in my opinion

like i said, and coming from a usa today article written roughly 14 hours ago:

But Douglas-Roberts has been bidding to be a first-team All-American while leading Memphis in scoring (17.9 points a game). Freshman point guard Derrick Rose is universally deemed destined for the NBA. Top rebounders Joey Dorsey, a senior, and Robert Dozier, a junior, also have pro prospects.

In Tennessee, a vintage season for hoop dreams - USATODAY.com

"pro prospects" doesnt always mean the NBA, you may want to read this carefully, Europe is full of "pro players".

and the captain obvious award for today goes to rexvol. congrats buddie.

calm down turbo and quit tryn' to be a smart ass. same article, just a bit further down:

In remarks on his radio show after Wednesday's game, Pearl said Memphis has "four or five NBA players" and is "talent-based."

thank you, come again.

of course Pearl's going to say that, what do you expect him to say? Read this carefully turbotax, ever hear of coachspeak? Troll on elswhere.

and "talent based" is a shot at Cal, imo, he's saying anyone could coach a team with that much talent.

turbotax? lame just like the software ...

no one is trolling. just responding to the thread, unlike you, who is just bashin' ...

give it another shot when you got something useful to add to the mix.

how can it be a shot at cal?

not everyone can coach a team with that much talent, because not everyone can recruit a team with that much talent, as maybe ... ummm cal has.

Im pretty sure that since this is VOLNATION Im pretty much within my rights to bash a rival. You came here expecting us to beleive your unmitigated garbage that the entire Tiger HIgh team is headed to the NBA. That is a completely moronic notion. Im guessing that you're a product of the Shelby County education system. And why dont you just not come back?

wow, bashing education now. what does that have to do with sports? lame excuse at avoiding a basketball discussion. learn how to battle a basketball discussion without resulting into name calling and city references.

where in my post did i mention that the entire memphis team is going to the nba?

this from the same guy that called me a smart a** and "turbo". By the way, I doubt you even know the movie "Breakin' II, Electric Boogaloo"...Turbo is a star.

heard of the movie, haven't seen it. not that old. anyways you going to answer the question from 5 posts ago? :)

I'm not trying to be mean guys, but Lofton doesn't have a shot of being on a NBA roster for any significant amount of time

please point out where you state "this player will not make the NBA". You seem to think the entire roster has a legit chance and that's simply delusional. You are the Memphis version of IE.

first sentence. three players are locks, which are mentioned. the others i gave assessments ... not saying they will make it. although honestly i would definitely throw dozier in there, making four nba prospects on the current team. just an opinion.

Just quoting this because it is the first time I have ever seen a reference to "Breakin' II" used to back up an argument.

Play nice, guys.

It's my opinion that Dorsey is far from a "lock" to make it to the NBA. He's undersized, and I don't feel like he'll do much against better competition at the pre-draft workouts. His stock will fall (which isn't very high to begin with), and he will likely end up in the NBDL or Europe.

I will say it again. If you cant look at any college roster and say "this guy has no chance to play in the NBA" which you are unable to do, you are simply a delusional homer.

I really hated to leave out Ozone, but Turbo was the "talent".
