If that was my position then, it hasn't changed substantially now.It was a while back. I believe it was when the discussions of J.P. to Tennessee had just started. You said he was one of the most overrated players in his recruiting class. Overall, you just didn't think it was a good idea Pearl allow him to transfer to UT.
I think your main beef with him was that all the hype that surrounded him in high school was because he's tall and can dribble. I can agree with that. He doesn't have a jump shot, but he can definitely slash through the lane and finish some difficult shots.
Has anything changed?
1) Redick has one "D"
2.)Redick is the all-time leading scorer in the top basketball conference in the country.
3.)Redick was the National Player of the Year
4.)Redick was a lottery pick. Lofton wont be drafted most likely.
I wish it weren't true, but it is. He had back trouble prior to leaving Duke which has set him back, and Stan Van Gundy wants defense from the 2guard position in Orlando. Because he has been somewhat of a flop in the pros people and the season Durant had, people forget how good this guy was in college. I hate Duke with a passion, but this guy is a flat out better basketball player than Chris Lofton.
How is the ACC not the top basketball conference in the country? Chris Lofton will not be drafted. He will test out bad in pre draft workouts, private and at the camp.
Post Len Bias, Maryland was lousy in the '80s. Georgia Tech was awful until Mark Price, John Salley, Bruce Dalrymple, et al arrived in the middle of the decade. No, Maryland, Ga. Tech, and Duke were all very good in the 80s as well. And NC State won a National Title with the late Jimmy V at the helm. The ACC is historically the best.
