NBA players in saturday's game

No, Maryland, Ga. Tech, and Duke were all very good in the 80s as well. And NC State won a National Title with the late Jimmy V at the helm. The ACC is historically the best.

The Big 10 had 3 champions in the 80's

ACC 2

Big East 2

Big 12 1

Post Len Bias, Maryland was lousy in the '80s. Georgia Tech was awful until Mark Price, John Salley, Bruce Dalrymple, et al arrived in the middle of the decade.

I was thinking the mid-to late 80s with Ga. Tech when they had teams with Price, Salley, Kenny Anderson, and 3D Dennis Scott. But we are nitpicking here hat, come on how about the PAC10 in 80's? What about the Big East in the 70's? Oh wait their wasn't a Big East in the 70's.

I'm just saying, because he hasn't turned out to be a good pro, people forget about how good a college player JJ Redick was. As much as I hate Duke, it's pretty plain to me and everybody outside of the state Redick is and was the better basketball player.

pricevol,

does it really make sense to debate with someone who refuted your points about Redick by saying your list didn't mean Redick was better?

His list had actually 0 points about basketball ability. Josh McRoberts was received a lot of accolades at one point in time. We all know what a baller he is too.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? I hate Duke as much as the next person, but come on be real. Josh McRoberts was hyped out of High School, but everyone, except for Josh, realized he wasn't all that good when he finally played collegiate ball. That's why he was a late 2nd-round pick. Redick was a LOTTERY PICK. Redick made more shots than Lofton. 3-point shots, midrange shots, free throws, everything WATCH him he is a far more skilled basketball player than Chris Lofton face the facts.

he was the frickin national player of the year and the leading scorer in the history of the ACC. how is that irrelevant?

does he need to show video of them playing 1 on 1?

Well, I think Dane Bradshaw is better than Kevin Durant. So what Durant averaged in the high 20's, was national POY, and a lottery pick and Dane wasn't drafted. Doesn't mean Durant is better.....

as hard as it is to believe, redick's a better athlete, his height is a big help, he drives better, is a better defender and is just a better player. on the playground, i would take redick first. if they guarded one another in the ensuing game, i like redick's chances, even if height was the only reason.

honestly, bill walton would have sucked at 6'. however, he was 7' and one of the best collegians ever partially due to that height.

If Reddick can sit on an NBA bench Lofton can. Lofton is a better shooter, and can create for himself rather than having to have screens continually set up for him.

1) Reddick is taller, yes

2) Reddick is not a better shooter than Lofton.

3) Reddick is not better off the dribble.

4) Reddick can't create for himself.

None of those four points say anything about Redick being a better basketball player than Lofton.

The only thing Redick has over Lofton is height.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Tennessee: Tyler Smith, thats it. Chris Lofton doesnt have a snowballs chance in hell of making a NBA roster. Sorry to break it to you. I love the kid he's just not a NBA player. He is about as good of a shooter as JJ Reddick was and Reddick is 6'5 and alot more athletic and he hasnt done anything the NBA.

Ramar will be in the league.

Bruce Pearl himself said this summer that Ramar will not see his senior year at UT because he will be in the NBA.

I think Chris will be drafted late second round and will ride the pine somewhere. He's just too short.

JaJuan will play overseas (read not NBA).

Tyler will play in the NBA as a SF. He might not put up a double double every night, but he will be a serviceable player.

IF Wayne works, maybe he could make the D League, but I don't see him making it in the NBA.

Outside that I don't see anyone making a dent into the NBA without a miraculous and extended stretch of play. That is unless Cameron Tatum turns out to be the next Allan Houston.

I think Ramar has improved very little from last season to this, and will see his senior year. I'm not questioned Bruce, I just don't think Ramar will been seen as a selection after his junior year, he has too much to improve on and there are already a number of PGs in his class better than he is. Augustin, Lawson, Grievis Vasquez, Russell Westbrook, Sherron Collins, Scottie Reynolds.

It also existed before and after those few years in the 90's when the ACC was the best conference year in and year out.

pricevol5][/b]Yes because in the 80s North Carolina had a bunch of scrubs and the PAC10 was overwhelmingly dominant.

Cause I am bored

This might be wrong, but by my calculations

Pac10 - 15 (UCLA 11)
Big 10 - 11
ACC - 10
Sec - 10 (Ky 7)
Big East - 10
Big 12 - 2

Others - 10

These are # of NCAA champs from 1939, as the conferences are aligned today

Technically the PAC10 has 12. Cal (twice), Stanford, and Oregon were members of the Pacific Coast Conference when they won national titles.

Ah, very nice.

Also, forgot the two from kansas for the Big 12, Makes 4 for them

I would think they would have more, that was suprising
