NC — WHAT A FARCE!

1. Two pick-sixes and a fumble at the goal line.

2. More to the point, Michigan isn't very good, and was ridiculously overrated by the media and the committee.

When you are in Big 10, you only have one big game a year to worry about winning…tOSU vs Michigan.

This is why the playoffs are a joke. Go back to the old bowl system or go all out playoffs and no bowls. Can’t have it both ways.

Hell no. That was a bigger joke. Cross your fingers and hope #1 and #2 might meet in a bowl game? No thanks.

And I see no reason to get rid of any bowls outside a playoff, that makes no sense. I mean do we need to get rid of the NIT? Sure nobody cares about the NIT but nobody cares about about 80% of the bowls and haven't for like 40 years.

Last night was the equivalent of selecting a 2A school to take on a 6A school for the state championship. You would have also thought the CFP committee learned its lesson with its Cincinnati experiment last year.

A 12 team playoff may help, but I don’t think a non-big money school will ever win a NC
That's what they said about the 4 team playoff and it's worse. The playoff doesn't address the problem, which is the weight of strength of schedule in the formula for rankings. The teams that don't have the strength of schedule should not be allowed into the playoffs. TCU rolled into Michigan untested, with few injuries, and a playbook/coaching tendencies that have been unrevealed. It's not fair to any team that proved their ranking on the field. TCU would lose to any top ten team 9 out of 10 times. Put them in the SEC and they finish with 4 loses.

You still have a better shot with 12 teams instead of say the 2 team BCS. With BCS you would have had Michigan vs. Georgia last night and Georgia likely slaughters them too.

How did Michigan lose to TCU!
Bc Michigan got badly screwed out of a TD by the refs then lost a fumble on their very next goal line play. Even the former head of NFL refs said that was a completely botched call.

Reverse that call kick the extra point and that’s 💯 the difference in the game. Michigan wins.

If that screw job happened to Tennessee our fans would NEVER let it go. Including me.

TCU should never have been in the NC game in the first place. Karma is a beetch

Yesterday was a bigger joke than anything that has ever happened in the BCS or the old system. The bowls meant more, you didn’t have all these permanent tie-ins before this playoff system. So essentially they have ruined both.

To be frank, I only see one thing in your post.

You: Hey, JoeMil, stand next to the wall. Yeah, the thick concrete wall.

JoeMil: Ok, what for?

You: I need more target practice, now hold still.

The championship game? SEC teams more often than not kick non-SEC team's butts in big games. It's almost like it's a law. BTW, the Vols-Dawgs game would have been a big blowout. What's ignored is Kirby reigned in his boys, when it was obvious ours were not really a threat against his defense. So, on the big stage, he probably would not have held back, due to ego. Would we have done better than TCU? I'd say yes, but not by much. Maybe lost 55 -20 at best.

Kirby didn't "reign in his boys" in any other game this year or last. I'm not sure why anyone thinks he did in the game against us.

I just hope the score puts to bed the storyline that Kirby "called off the dogs" on Tennessee. Kirby runs up the score when he can... And I have no problem with that. The weather got rough and the Tennessee defense legitimately made good adjustments.
Give it a rest. UGA threw 4 passes in the second half against UT. Anyone with an IQ over 4 knows that wasn't an attempt to run up the score. You got your azz kicked. Own it and move on. Our second string played the 4th quarter against TCU. Kirby had 2 choices on 4th down. Kick a field goal, which would have been rubbing it in, or let the second string run the offense.

That’s not the answer.
Go full blown playoffs like every other sport in pro and college or go back to the old bowl system.
Playoffs right now arnt that unpredictable. Ohio state gets spotted michigan gets spotted Georgia starts at #1 then the media and committee hope like heck a pack 12 scrub gets in or someone like tcu gets in. Not sure how you judge a playoff when osu and michigan doesn't really play a ranked opponent. That's what pisses me off. We Sat at #5 during playoff shows at one point and herbstreit and Fowler were campaigning for a #11 Oregon at the time. We went two weeks at #5 and really never got brought up. While their trying to figure out how a top 15 can get in. Then couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces the night we got trounced by S.C.

Thanks everyone for explaining. It was more of a rhetorical question, though.

That is why the top 30 teams should jump ship now and form their own division....................

Georgia vs TCU: 65-7: Ridiculous!— Just proof that TCU never deserved to be there in the first place!

UGA vs Tennessee was 27-13….

Even if the outcome was the same: which game would you rather watch?

Even Joe Milton III could have scored the VOLS at least 21 points this time around!!!!!

It was bad, but honestly NOBODY was beating GA last night..everything was clicking offensively and defensively. I wouldn't have wanted to play them last night.

I’m with you, I don’t think Kirby was being ‘a gentleman’ and calling off the dogs.. they weren’t giving us crap… they are, however, really really good this year

Here is something promising. A few years ago I remember watching the Alabama - Clemson game and being amazed by the talent and speed on the field. I remember thinking how lousy we looked in comparison. I thought we were a decade away at best from ever being a team that looked like those guys. The Vols are knocking on the door now.
Gonna have to take the next step in recruiting and making use of the transfer portal to get there.

FCS has an 11-game regular season and a 24-team playoff with eight 1st-round byes. I'd take that in a heartbeat. And besides, do that in FBS and you probably have a bunch of teams with significantly fewer players opting out to prepare for the draft.

If you just dumped the AP top 25 (minus one) into a bracket, and had no upsets, you'd have wound up with:
#1 Georgia / #8 Utah
#4 Ohio State / #5 Alabama

#2 Michigan / #7 Clemson
#3 TCU / #6 Tennessee

I like our chances of getting to the title game in that.

Kind of proves UT would have been the better matchup.

Even UT losing to Michigan would have made a better title game.

I think bama and Tennessee should have been in the playoffs.

If you go back and take a look at TCU's schedule they played a bunch of scrub teams and barely beat most of them.
