Yep - and my opinion is that it has more to do with trimming the fat of our current commits than missing on other guys we want.

I'm pretty sure brown has wanted to be a Vol at least from memory of what has been said. I don't think we need the "orange" carpet just need to accept his commitment.

If that's true, UT must be ready to take it. Which tells me, Payton most not be a sure thing

It's HUDL so it's highlights, but his senior year film is a lot of running by people as well as making contested catches. Like Bass, I think I'd prefer Payton, but this kid can definitely play as well.

Also.... not that it would matter much I don't think, but I think he was good friends with Crouch IIRC.

Is Brown a legit 4.4 guy like Payton? Either way, I dont think we lose getting either of them. Payton is bigger and being a JUCO, would contribute sooner. But Brown is definitely a playmaker. We need speed and both have it.

Wish we could take both. Blueshirt one. We def need some speed. O and keep Keyton for sure.

Was thinking the same thing about Crouch. We read that somewhere, months back, can't remember where.

From an article RS posted back in April. They were supposed to visit together on March 23rd but Khafre participated in a track meet that weekend instead.

Track speed, too, BOT. I knew there was a connection to Crouch, but Crouch seems to be his own man. So, in the long run it may help a little if Brown commits, but probably not enough to matter.

I really like Payton, and I would take him in this class in a heartbeat. But I like that Brown is a high school player and has more time with this roster and staff. He's more the long-term fix I think we need at WR rather than bringing in Payton to patch up the next two years. BUT, like I said, I would absolutely take Payton.
