'19 NC ATH Khafre Brown

Dog is knocking his dick in the dirt just dreaming of this possibility.
Haha, good one, @NochNoch. But, hopefully Tank and Beasley will be knocking d!cks in the dirt n the secondary over the next 4 years and Brown becomes DeSean Jackson 2.0 for the Vols at WR and returner. Yes, a commit from Brown would make me very happy. I'm thinking this recruiting class could be legendary when it is all said and done. Vols really need to win 2 out of the next 3 games and make a bowl game or imo, this class will not have the great finish it has the potential to ...

Bowl eligibility will not have much effect on the class imo

Four-star wide receiver Khafre Brown of Charlotte, N.C., originally was scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan over the weekend, but he ended up taking an unofficial visit to Tennessee instead. It was his fourth trip to Knoxville this year and his second visit with the Vols this season. They hosted him on an official visit the weekend of Sept. 22 for their home game against Florida, and Brown made the trip again for Saturday’s game with one of his coaches. The visit only served as further confirmation that Tennessee is one of the teams to beat for Brown.

North Carolina, the only other team that has hosted him on an official visit, still is believed to be the Vols’ primary competition. But with Tennessee still searching for at least one more wide receiver in the 2019 class and an upgrade in speed at the position, sources told GoVols247 that the Vols have a legitimate chance of beating out the Tar Heels. Brown’s older brother, Dyami Brown, is a freshman wide receiver at North Carolina, but sources have said the younger Brown not set on joining his brother there. Credit Tennessee tight ends coach Brian Niedermeyer for having built a strong relationship with Brown over the past several months.

While the Vols currently appear to have as good of a chance of landing Brown as anyone, he doesn’t appear to be ready to announce a decision. He’s still scheduled to take an official visit to Georgia this weekend, and it’s still possible that he could reschedule his official visit to Michigan. Another trip to North Carolina always is possible, too. But the Vols, by all accounts, have a legitimate chance of landing him if they continue to push for him.

"I liked it," Brown said of the visit. "I had fun and you can say the interest is extremely high for both Tennessee and myself." The Tennessee staff has made it clear that Brown is coveted in orange because he can put stress on the defense. "They have a need for speed," Brown said. "I can see it when I watch the game. You see them run slants, digs and drag routes, but throwing it over the top is not a strength. They have a QB that can get it out there, but that's not something they do very much because it's not a strength."

So what does Brown like about Tennessee? "I like the coaching staff," Brown said. "It's a good school and they have my major. Tennessee is a school I have a lot of interest in." Tennessee's coaching staff continues to pound away at Brown with the combination of David Johnson and Brian Niedermeyer. "Coach Johnson is a coach that will get on you and get the most out of you," Brown said. "He also loves up his players. Coach Niedermeyer is a fun dude and a great recruiter. He keeps it real."

Brown's older brother Dyami signed with North Carolina last season and the Tar Heels are part of the equation, but the uncertain future of the staff in Chapel Hill has Brown seeing other paths to college. "I can't get caught up in trying to play with my brother," Brown said. "If it worked out then ok, but I have to do what's best for me. I have to find the school that I fit in with best."

Brown is quick to point at that he doesn't have a current leader, but Tennessee has a 'real shot' to land him. "I'm looking for a place that I can play and a place I can enjoy for the next four years," Brown said. "Just a place I can thrive both on and off the field."

I would like Brown but it may be whichever pulls the trigger first. 4 years of Brown would be nice though. And if the Haselwood interest is real...you make the room for both.
