Would this kid be the fastest WR on the team the first day he steps on campus if he chooses us?
That's just the gamble that the staff is willing to take I guess, with the hard 25 Cap on recruits it makes getting the very best prospects even more important than it was before, I guess the staff is high enough on Haselwood to take the odds. But I definitely agree with you overall, would be really bad to miss on one of those 2Man that's a HUGE gamble that could backfire in a bad way. I really hope that Jadon isn't just leading us on. Because if you slow play Brown and Payton it's possible we miss on both.
“They’re a growing team,” Brown said. “They’re going in a good direction.” He said he learned “a lot” about Tennessee from its performance Saturday against the 49ers. “I see the quarterback can get the ball around,” Brown said. “I see they pass the ball. I think I can fit in the program great. … They throw the ball deep, when they can get it out there. It’s just a matter of the speed to get there.”
“I mean, we’ve talked every day,” Brown said of Niedermeyer. “I mean, he keeps it real with you. We text every day, talk about me as a person, school. We don’t really talk about football like that.” As Brown moves closer to deciding on a college, he said he’s still strongly considering Tennessee for multiple reasons. “I just like the school, the environment, the coaching staff and the direction they’re going in,” he said.
Brown said he’s hoping to announce his college decision in the not-too-distant future, adding that he will make his choice in “probably December.” But he said he plans to sign in February rather than during next month’s early signing period, “just to kind of make sure” he’s comfortable with his decision.
“I’m not going to sign (in December), but I’m going to make my decision soon,” he said.
We have some speed at WR it just so happens they either don't have the height(Byrd) or physicality
( Latrell/jones) to go wth the speed or they apparently struggle with playbook(Murphy). So staff doesn't trust the speed we have.
Couldn't tell you but looks fast in game and is probably our most underutilized player on offense IMHO, heard he has issues grasping the playbook but if he can get it all together he is going to be really good. Palmer has pretty good speed too, but speedsters need one thing to be utilized well and that is an OL that can give the QB time so the fast WR's can get down the field and make a play on the ball, can't make a play on the ball when the QB is already sacked, and that is what we are REALLY lacking right nowWe definitely need one or two speed guys with talent added to the roster. Our "speed" guys at WR just aren't talented enough for this level of play IMO. Was Murphy considered a speed guy coming out of HS or more of a possession route runner type guy?

Good question they really were on the Latrell Williams train over the summer, maybe as stated he's just not physical enough so if a ball is a 50-50 ball they don't trust him to make a play vs. the pass getting intercepted? I honestly don't knowWhat is odd to me is how VQ really seemed to pump up Latrell Williams over the summer and talked about him making plays in practice. WTF was that all about?
What I remember hearing about Murphy was how smooth of a WR, he was. Sounded like a good route runner that has some speed to me and has good hands, not a pure speed guy like Brown and PaytonWe definitely need one or two speed guys with talent added to the roster.
