well, as a panthers fan, i pretty much think that's what they did too with Newton. save Greg Olson, who i will alwasy be a fan of. but it wasn't like he was throwing to some real burners out there. never really played with STeve Smith. Funchess....Benjamin....some blond haired whited due that looked like sunshine from remember the titans.....tedd ginn, then not tedd ginn, then ted ginn again.............

finally get DJ moore and McAffery....and it's all over. lol. Cam...gone. Luke...gone. Olson...gone.

and the panthers will suck for the forseeable future as well. didn't even draft an offensive player this year.

maybe this would be a good year to not have football, at least in the NFL???

well, i'd rather have Ritzie. but i don't think it's happening.

Koht looks like a really good player too, and i'd be very happy if we landed him. it also comes with the added bonus of contributing to the meltdown of the UF fanbase, seeing as how they are basically counting on him being a part of their class.

It was time.
I don’t like how they handled the situation but it’s very telling that no one wants to sign him. So is he really 100% or did they put that out so he’d potentially gain interest?

If Clemson is to be slowed down UNC needs to be better. Help hurt in regards to Tennessee

Great QBs make their average receivers good, their good receivers great and their great receivers generational. Not saying Matt Ryan meets “great QB” criteria, but I remember during Vick’s last season in Atlanta he did an interview where he fantasized what his stats would be if he had a receiver like Marvin Harrison. Ryan came in and suddenly Roddy White was a Pro Bowler. Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon were afterthought draft choices...Peyton turned them into receivers other teams wanted to sign. Cam’s a weapon that doesn’t have a history of making his receivers (other than Olsen) such.

Wouldn’t have mattered if Vick had Jerry Rice. Much like Cam his accuracy was always the problem

i don't disagree, but what did they reall get him in kelvin benjamin? a guy that ate himself out the league, and in Devin Funchess....a clone of Benjamin w/out the eating. i don't think either are in the league anymore? if they are, well, the fact that i don't tells you someting lol.

i think Cam gets, and has gotten, a whole lot more flack than he ever deserved...but i'm also not one that's blind. he's not Aaron Rogers in terms of accuracy. but he isn't a scrub either.

and the panthers' front office really didn't do much to put a whole lot around him.....they let Stewart and Williams get old in the backfiled, they patchworked an O line (some of htat was just being unlucky with a couple of draft picks)...the WR's were at best serviceable. besides the Te and Cam's legs....and some nifty play calling.,...it was all on cam's shoulders/legs lol.

anyway...i do agree, he was never going to be the guy that made a WR look better than he was. i think everyone knew that. he still won an MVP. still had 4000 yard passing seasons.....

so why keep putting ? marks around him? get the dude some dudes. never happened.

oh, i was pulling for Carolina.

and while i was really sad they lost the game....i really thought they had a very good shot at winning it......i was really happy for Peyton, and that he got to go out like that.

i used to like the broncos a pretty good bit when Elway was the QB always rooted for them, and i remember when they won those two super bowls in the late 90's, how cool that was for Elway...and to be able to retire the way he did.

so aside from the Panthers losing....which did suck.....i at least took solace in that Peyton got to do the same thing his boss did. and that he's the only QB in history to lead two teams to SB titles.

it was a double edge sword game for me in some ways.

i've thought about that some too. i don't think he was thrilled with the direction of Carolina now, so there's zero benefit to saying anything other than 100%, whether you're trying to stay in Charlotte or attract suitors.

but the panthers kinda screwed themselves by being so wishy washy, they devalued him a great deal and everybody got scared. can't even trade the guy....former freaking MVP, and can't get diddly for him. just released him. which, in turn, screwed him, cause now he has no real value, and no one wants to take the chance cause they don't trust the health.

and there's nothing anyone can do right now anyway.

oh well. we got Bridgewater. err'thing aight. lol.

I don’t think it’s all Carolinas fault. They’re to blame for some things sure but how invested is Cam in the game of football? There’s a lot of tap out there post MVP that you can argue he’s not interested. From on field play to post game interviews. Dr James Andrews I believe said the injury would never fully heal. It would seem healed and be fine but he’d never have that drive off his feet again. Mix that with the things he can’t fix before the nfl and things just aren’t good.

It never occurred to me but it’s speaks volumes to me that Winston has a job and Cam can’t buy one.

i've never questioned the 'want to'.

the only reason he hasn't gotten a job yet is the health question. shoulder/foot. if either or both aren't right, it will affect his ability to be able to play the way he plays.

i've said it since the end of 2018....i want cam as our QB so long as he's healthy and can get anywhere close to 15, 16, 17 cam.

this 18,19 version sucks. lol.

they cut bait. that put everything on ice for Cam as far as having a bunch of suitors....word was Chicago really wanted him, and has obvioulsy backed off. so either they just decide to start fresh for starting fresh's sake, or they know more than they're willing to tell about his health. and wiht things shut down for the past two months....not much anyone can really do to refute or verify. so he's in limbo.

we'll see.

make no mistake I don’t think Rhule is the guy. I think he’ll be a nice stability guy but never get them where they want.

i think it's a very tall order. i'm glad Tepper got who he wanted, and wasn't afraid to go get him.

i'm not sure who he wanted is the right guy?

but honestly, my whole expectation level has taken a nose dive this off season for the panthers. i think we're gonna suck.......and maybe for a while.
