NO VISITS SET FOR EDGE-RUSHER TARGET

Tennessee still is believed to be one of the top contenders for edge rusher James Pearce of Charlotte, N.C., who visited the Vols for three of their home games this season and has indicated that he's likely to take an official visit to Knoxville. But he still hasn't taken any official visits since June, when he traveled to Missouri on his first official visit. And with his Julius L. Chambers High School team playing in North Carolina's Class 4A championship game Saturday night, he's also not expected to go on a visit this weekend.

Sources close to Pearce's recruitment have said he's leaning toward waiting until National Signing Day in February to sign. Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina all hosted him on visits this season and are widely viewed as three of the main contenders for him. But if he doesn't sign during the Early Signing Period, his recruitment still could change significantly in January.
