'25 NC OT David Sanders (Tennessee commit)

Probably busy with your own life and worries like most of us. Beyond that, it’s football season… not recruiting season.

At the end of the day, there will be 5 star OL talent in the portal if you’re willing to pony up.

See the bad thing about the supposed “better” NIL era is recruiting season now NEVER ends. A coach now has to recruit all his players every year. Commitment and loyalty are basically gone now.

If you think there is gonna be players of Sanders caliber in the portal every year then you are sadly mistaken.

If we lose Sanders, the only acceptable answer is firing Elarbee the day after the season is over.

His recruiting has been buttcheeks and he’s been successful inheriting talent from the previous admin. We have incredibly thin cupboards for next year.

So the logic is if a kid flips, it’s automatically that kids recruiter and position coaches fault and he should be fired?

I don't think you can write off the recruiting season from one player. But, remember, that money goes back into the pot and you'll see some mystery visits suddenly. Remember, Sanders was locked in til likely some money freed up from somewhere. I doubt they just decided one day to allow OSU back in. There has to be new money. Money is the root of all recruiting from now on.

It’s a very Salty situation. It’s not all on the kid, and that’s a shame. I hate when “others” get involved. It’s a detriment to a young mans ethics as well.

For me it’s about having your word mean something. 100% should mean 100%

No. Im waiting for confirmation from them, metal, or king on the direction of this whole thing. People are losing their minds atm. I do agree about needing to upgrade our offensive line coaching & recruiting situation.

- they do want to optimize some of the terms well beyond what anyone should agree to
- it feels like a leverage play by the agent
- if there were better relationships in certain places, I can’t imagine it would be at this point

I still think it lands in an ok place but probably won’t know until a few days from now.

- it feels like a leverage play by the agent
- if there were better relationships in certain places, I can’t imagine it would be at this point

Sounds like someone knows that they've got Tennessee and Ohio State by the balls...both of whom have tenuous OL issues beyond this year...and are trying to pit them against each other into a commitment that borders on ridiculous.

Ryan Day is also on a hot seat this year. They're willing to spend a ton starting right now with this past portal class to get over that final hump. Gave into some interesting things with guys like Downs

Additionally, they also have an OL coach that is about as popular amongst their fanbase as Elarbee is with ours.

Agree the is purely agent driven. Firmly believe we have a better NIL offer than OSU. Will come down to will they guarantee. If not I think he will be a Vol if they do or increase the offer he’s gone.
