No coach is going to sign up for a gig where winning 87% of your games isn’t good enough.

For God’s sake, that was NICK SABAN’s win rate at Bama.
lol. Ryan Day is no Nick Saban. He just plays in a conference where he has up to this year had one game a year against a team with even close to equal talent. Now that Oregon is in the conference he can expect 2 losses a year there minimum. That was a terrible Michigan team; everything Ohio state did this year as a program was focused on beating Michigan and winning a title. Ohio state had so many ways they could win and Michigan only had a few conditions for a win. Ryan Day is Mark Richt in the Big Ten; he’s a mediocre coach and elite recruiter.

I can’t see a coach with a 66-10 record getting canned just because of his record against one team. That would be crazy. Basically the same as if we had fired Fulmer in 1997 just because he struggled with Florida.
So if Auburn’s coach couldn’t beat Bama, you don’t think that would be an issue for those morons.

Same for me but difference being that’s normally their only opponent that’s on their level. That *should* change with Oregon and if USC can ever figure things out that conference could get spicy.

That is a good comparison because OSU is really one of those places where it recruits itself. You just need a semi competent coach to keep the ship moving forward.

It takes an elite coach to harness that into championships though, something Day is not.

Also, love him or hate him Richt had character. Day just watched his kids brawl after the game with a 1000 yard stare while Moore was in the middle trying to stop it.

with 2 5th yr seniors and transfers from the portal... show me the Oline starters who he recruited and developed... we have younger talent but it's not being developed... some of these kids should be much farther along by now.
You have no idea how far along the young talent is because you haven’t seen them play.

Look I despise all things Ohio State, but even I can’t deny there’s just something different about that Michigan/Ohio State rivalry. So I 100% can see them kicking him to the curb if he doesn’t at least make it to the national title game.

Love the Mark Richt analogy 👍🏻

As of Saturday he was going to be part of this class. Unless something has changed since then we’re good. I cannot imagine Ohio State has been able to get any traction since the disaster that’s going on up there. Some people talking about Day being gone this year.
There was mumbling of him looking to get out before the Michigan game. He’d be at Florida today if they hadn’t reupped on Sunbelt Billy

Yeah I think to a degree, they viewed this year as national championship or bust. This was supposedly his most talented team as a HC.

I liked Richt, but he was the coach had UGA players jumping all over our logo at midfield after 2003 loss at home. He loved that type of shite.

Have you met Ohio State fans??

no it doesn’t make sense to fire a man with that winning percentage. But he’s lost 4 in row to Michigan….
