- WiltfongThe latest buzz has been around him sticking with the Volunteers, but it it is possible he will not sign Wednesday, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong. Sanders has yet to submit his paperwork, and head coach Josh Heupel’s press conference is set for 1:30 p.m. and if he can discuss Sanders.
Regardless, Sources indicate it’s nothing to worry about regarding his commitment to the Vols. His high school coach, Chad Grier, told Wiltfong that Sanders plans to have his signing ceremony next week with other teammates.
“We have four kids doing it, and it worked out best with everyone’s schedule,” said Grier. “I think everyone is signing today and doing recognition next Tuesday.”
So he's waiting to sign until next week but he's ALSO signing today but having a recognition ceremony next week? Dafuq kind of doublespeak is that?- Wiltfong

Can someone sign next week? I thought it was today or February only. Otherwise, why even have a February signing day if you sign any day in-between?
AP posted this 10 minutes ago and has now deleted this post. Odd.Clearly there is some hang up for them…it is what it is at this point. TN is not going to just give into all the demands. I think the kid wants to be here but they are shooting their shot on what they want in the NIL agreement imo.
now as for my opinion…
If he ends up elsewhere you just go find someone else. Yes you would love to have him but sometimes it is what it is. There are other good players you can go grab. TN ran for 2500 yards with Gerald Mincey, Jeremiah Crawford and a former Walk on in Dayne Davis playing a ton of reps at tackle the last several years. Yes you want elite players but there is more than one path to success now that the portal is a thing.
We will see what the Sanders family elects to do….
