I’m betting Gmac.Or Merk, one must go. I'm betting Merk
How in the world can you say that when 1 is a true freshman and 1 is still a senior in high school? Heck, no one knew that Hendon Hooker would become what he eventually became.I’m betting Gmac.
Heupel will prefer an upperclassman to run his offense once Nico is gone. Merk has also looked promising in the minimal time he’s played this far.
If anything, I think it will be a really really close battle between them. I’m fine with either starting. I look at Gmac and Merk the same way I do Milton, a bridge to the next best thing.
Nico = Hooker
Gmac or Merk = One year of Milton
Faizon = Nico
If that makes sense.

Because Merk looked more impressive as a high schooler. Mac has great physical ability and throws a beautiful deep ball. But I question his field vision at this stage of his development. His head never moves when he drops back. Merk is accurate, Merk goes through his progressions, and Merk will have a year advantage in the system.
I could be wrong. None of us KNOW. It’s just a prediction, based on what I’ve seen. Because we’re on a message board.
For the record, this is less about being down on Mac than being high on Merk. I think Merk can be a star…enough to be an early NFL entry.
My main issue with Mac is that’s it’s gonna take about 7 years to gain weight. Putting 20 pounds on this frame won’t do much.
He’ll have 1.5 years to put on weight and honestly not far off from where Nico was in HS.This, to me, is scary. He will not hold up in the SEC.

This was the exact same argument they had about Nico just 2 years ago.My main issue with Mac is that’s it’s gonna take about 7 years to gain weight. Putting 20 pounds on this frame won’t do much.

Peanut butter and jelly now. Better get working out pronto.My main issue with Mac is that’s it’s gonna take about 7 years to gain weight. Putting 20 pounds on this frame won’t do much.

They need a play caller badly. None of our playcalling feels complimentary. It feels like someone just picking plays from a Madden playbook that they like.Don’t forgot those sweet inside counter plays ran 10x per game!

Golesh at least knew how a play (even if unsuccessful) affected the defense’s approach and then he played off of that trying to stay a step ahead. CJH just wants to go by what playcalls are in what situation section of the playsheet.
The frustrating thing is that on our first drive, we saw what appeared to be our old offense that had worked so well. Crossing routes, TE usage, misdirection, QB runs, etc. Even the TD was a vintage Princeton Fant circa 2022 type play.If our WRs can’t understand screen, screen, run then I don’t know
