I don't follow this argument. I would think the "real" guy is the one when he really gets to choose. The Bill Belichick that you see at press conferences and most interviews isn’t the real guy, it’s just schtick. He’s actually very engaging and entertaining. His first few years in NE we got to see his real personality. Then he won multiple Super Bowls which afforded him the opportunity to become a jackass with the media.
at most Faizon would get 2 years with Bill. he would have to like the combo of Bill and his son more than Heupel to flip.Yeah, Bill will be able to get talent, but he isn't just going to waltz in and take Josh Heupel's QB where a relationship has been established for a significant amount of time. We will see if that changes with QBs in 2028 if Bill isn't retired by then.
Maybe Faizon:Good news for us!
But how do you not take a call from Belicheck?
Brady won multiple superbowls, Bill has a losing record in the NFL without Tommy Boy.
its no different than Saban. He was an ass**** with the media for pretty much his entire time at Bama. Yet, his former players and staff said he was very different behind the scenes. We can now see that with his time on Gameday. He seems like a completely different person.I don't follow this argument. I would think the "real" guy is the one when he really gets to choose.
when he got good he had the opportunity to be whoever he wanted to be. If he wanted to be a jackwagon, that says its more than likely he is a jackwagon. He couldn't be a jackwagon early on because he had no cache. Same with TV now. a grouch doesn't sell, so he can't be his grouchy self.
what did have to gain later on to be surly and short with the media if he is actually engaging?
Belichick did a good job in Cleveland, winning a playoff game and, the following year, having the team tied for first place until Modell announced he was moving the team to Baltimore. As you’d expect, the season went to hell after the announcement. The first three Super Bowl wins in NE were largely due to Belichick and his staff. Brady certainly had clutch moments, but those wins were mostly defensively driven. From 07-16, they became a Brady-led team. At the end of the day, both greatly benefited from being with one another.
In the 19 seasons Brady was with the Patriots, they had the #1 defense in the league, statistically, over that span. Then he went to Tampa and played with one of the elite defenses of all-time...which is why they were able to overcome the 3 INTs he threw in the first half of the NFCCG.No Brady didn’t win multiple Super Bowls. You need to look at those SB victories and realize how many times Belicheck defenses had excellent to historic defensive performances. Even in Tampa Bay, Brady was on a team that had a historic defensive performance in a Super Bowl.
Bingo. No disrespect to Tom Brady but people need to stop with this “Brady won all these Super Bowls.” He didn’t. He helped. But having elite defenses helped tremendously. In the 19 seasons Brady was with the Patriots, they had the #1 defense in the league, statistically, over that span. Then he went to Tampa and played with one of the elite defenses of all-time...which is why they were able to overcome the 3 INTs he threw in the first half of the NFCCG.
-VQChatter around Faizon Brandon and North Carolina quickly picked up from the talking heads once Bill Belichick was tabbed as the new coach in Chapel Hill. In our opinion, this would have happened regardless of who was hired, as it is natural to tie a prospect of Brandon's caliber and his proximity to a school like UNC when there is a new hire. The elite signal-caller is currently expected to return to Knoxville on Saturday to spend time with the Tennessee staff and other recruits on campus. Other commitments expected on campus for the 2026 class include Carson Sneed, Braylon Outlaw, and Brandon Anderson.
