No.

But I’ll be interested to see what is done about recruiting vs coaching and maybe splitting up those responsibilities for some coaches.
With the ability to have unlimited staff I say pay the dudes needed for the job. Recruiting is just as valuable if not more so than coaching these days. I’m sure we got the funds for it.

Funds for every program in the country are in an unusual spot with revenue sharing coming with the players. Will be an interesting few years.

Really wish we just had a “Best Friend of the Head Coach” position on staff we could give him so we could hire an actual OL coach that understands development and pass blocking.

That’s a good idea. Name Elarbe assistant to the head coach and let it be. Then go out and hire a legit OL coach who can recruit.

We dropped a bag for him lol, it’s been alluded to many times that Elarbee wasn’t a factor in his recruitment
His primary recruiter is literally GE. And you think we’re the only ones that dropped a bag? It’s a fact, according to AP anyway, that OSU offered more.

I think this and last years OL cycle is what it has to be going forward. We are suffering because 2021,2022,2023 were awful OL classes. I'll give him a pass for the 2021.

OL is a developmental position and the struggle right now is because these classes sucked. Not every lineman pans out, but you can't miss on an entire class let alone multiple classes in a row.
2021: Jeremiah Crawford & William Parker (transferred) ... D+
2022: Brian Grant & Reddick Addison Nichols (transferred), Clipper (transferre) ... D+
2023: Sham, LG3, Lang, T Duncan, Bussell, ... TBD

You think he came here just because of the position coach? Definitely cant be because we gave him a great nil deal, a house for his family, the campus, or Heupel himself

Also not to mention that 247 just lists the position coach on there most times unless the 247 beat writers are told differently, like with Clemson

How do you know?

Did he tell you this personally?

We get it, you hate GE.

Give it a rest.

Let’s say Glen Elarbee didn’t have a thing to do with his recruitment. Do you think maybe, possibly, David Sander likes what GE had to say given he’s about to spend the next 3 years being coached by him? GE deserves some credit here. Even if Heupel was his primary, GE didn’t just stay at home

My guess is Elarbee gave him his NIL offer once CJH approved it. Guess that makes him the lead recruiter.

He had a lot of other options as well.

Look I’m not saying Glenn is some ace recruiter or anything like that. I will also say the current system is stupid as hell as well; coaches spend a ton of time on the road away from their families visiting recruits. That’s why a lot of coaches hate recruiting so much. There should be a recruiting staff that doesn’t necessarily have to be on the field coaches. You’re still going to have a lot of time spent recruiting but it would loosen it up somewhat on the coaching staff.

So you believe that Glen Elarbee has done a great job?
A great job? No. A bad job? Not even close. Bro say Elarbee can’t recruit is just a flat out lie. He developed Wright into an early first round pick. He is one of the main reasons we have had none of the best centers in the nation for a few years.
