The way I see it, everytime an SEC team not named Tennessee wins a championship, it just makes it that much harder for UT to climb back to the top! Screw the whole SEC brotherhood bs!!

1. As a Catholic. I would like to thank everyone for not doing any "Catholic Bashing" in this thread. It is greatly appreciated. God Bless you all.

2. The National Catholic Reporter, is an indepentdent news source that is not endorsed by Notre Dame or the Church. It is a very "Progressive" or "Liberial" news publication. Not saying that this is a false report or a "trumped" up article. But, most Catholics that are familiar with it would not use it for paper training their puppy or starting a fire. I just dont know how much stock to put into it. Seeing as no charges were filed against any player, that makes me even more skeptical..It seems like one of the situations where we will never know the 100% truth.

3. In this order, and always in the order, and will always be in this order for me..GO VOLS!!!! Go Irish!

I had to bite my lip. (I'm not catholic) The last thing catholicism needs is another scandal involving a coverup connected to sexual harrasment (in all its forms).

Bama winning doesn't help us one bit. Even if they win, people from other conferences will just say bama is good and the rest of is have been riding there coat tails. All while thumping our sec chest. Plus we hardly ever compete with ND for recruits. We try to get bama recruits all the time. Screw bama.

OK, well I admit UT ruled those areas back in '98.. ha.

Bama needs quite a few losses to go into decline. They all matter. I can't pull for them. Sorry. And I hate ND too.

If bama winning means dick Saban will move on to the nfl or slippery rock u. I will say let them win if not go Irish. Can't wait to see what the future holds for our beloved VOLS. VFL

half my sons family is bama fans, the other half the good ones are all Vol so tired of hearing how good bama is, but at 5 hes a smart kid that loves the Vols.,it is so sad that i love the sec crushing anyone they play, so im not rooting for Bama im rooting for another sec NC,.,.

If bama wins it puts more money in our coffers due the sec sharing bowl revenue. If bama wins that perpetuates the sec elitism. Those are the positives for UT. I detest both teams and other than the two things mentioned above I could care less who wins. The great thing about it is I don't have to.

We need money...How many people on here don't get that? You hear that the AD is getting back 18M??? THAT takes time ...It's not in the bank . we have coaches to pay and former coach's to pay and maybe looking down the barrell of NCAA sanctions

Yes, I have to laugh at those that say screw the SEC, yes, we should play in a conference where every team but us has a sub 500 record so we can be undefeated. If you hate the SEC so much, lobby your boy JCheeks to move us to the big least. Every championship that the SEC wins makes us stronger. If you don't understand that to be the best, you have to beat the best then you are not nor will ever be a Vol fan.

GO BAMA, ROLL TIDE!

Don't be fooled by my favorite teams, I would be equally excited for Auburn (I was with Scam) or even Candy (probably the least of any team in the SEC though).

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^What he said! Also,we benefit from being the only team in East Div to play Bama yearly. There is only so many scholarships at Bama,LSU,Fla! Kids will want to play for a team that could have 2 shots at the defending NCs! BELIEVE ME,I WOULD FKIN NUKE TUSCALOOSA! I WAS BORN IN 80,so I endured the 8.5 streak(we tied 17-17 in 93 and they had to vacate because of Langham so idk wtf to call the streak? Very fkin miserable? I literally plotted at age 12 to murder Palmer(David"deuce")and Stallings after the fkin 2 point conversion tied us. My granny&her15 bros&sis& their kids and cousins are from Bama. They rubbed it in my face! I fkin double dog HATE bama.. The happiest day of my life was 95 Beatdown in Bama. Luckily,I lived in Bama from 96-04. Being able to proudly wear the Big Orange and waive huge UT flags was great,but talkin sht was better! But when Bama started losing and everyone IN BAMA WAS WEARING BIG ORANGE,the gratification lessened slightly. The BEST BAMA WINS,WHICH IS REALLY THE ONLY GAME THAT TRULY MATTERS TO ME IN A LIFE-DEATH SERIOUSNESS WAY,ARE THE ONES WHEN WE ARE PLAYING THEM AT THEIR BEST! 96 for example. They were 6-0 we were 4-1. They were up 13-0 and Peyton,Kent, and Graham led us to a 20-13 victory. Greatest game EVER in my life as I got to watch it with the whole Webb family(we are ALL ALL-VOL& born&raised here) and we were beating Bama! Not suckbama of the shula days. That was just great! I loved it! But the game lost it`s lustre and was replaced by the Fla game as #1 rivalry by a lot of people. I will never utter any probammer phrase,EVER! I want them to win to build their egos even higher before the inevitable fall. I want them to win for added revenue to UT. i want them to win so OUR GREATEST RIVAL is the #2 Baddest azz team in the nation,and when we beat them it shows how good we are&we even can beat them 2x a season! I want them to win because my 85yo Granny is all I have left and she does utter that damn phrase&wants them to win(#1reason btw)she`s not going to make it much longer,and Bama NC would make HER happy. I want them to win so maybe Saban will fkin retire. I want them to win because I WILL NEVER PULL FOR A YANKEE TEAM OVER AN SEC TEAM! I want them to win to make it 7 for the SEC. We got THE 1st BCSnc in 98! It will pull recruits to the SEC as a whole. We DO NOT NEED A RESURGENCE OF ND FBALL! OR ANY YANK&LEFT COAST TEAMS,BECAUSE WE RECRUIT THOSE AREAS AS WELL! Exactly the way I see it. SEC is a big southern family. My brother is an idiot but if anyone else says it I'll bust their lip. I WILL NOT say "roll ****" however, thats just sinful.

I disagree. While beating 'Bama on any day is like a big ole warm slice of homemade apple pie, knowing that we may have cost them something else down the road is the ice cream on top.

I like it to linger in their mouths like a bad taste.

My least favorite team is Alabama
My second least favorite team is Notre Dame.

This year's NC is going to suck for me either way. And MTSU got robbed of a bowl game. I hate this postseason. Sad face.
