NCAA Coaching Carousel

If you look at relatively, I'd give Cincinnati a higher grade than a B-. That's a better hire for them than it would have been at a bigger program.

Tuberville sucks and is no class.

He won't do anything there.

He's definitely created some recent negative press with the slapping of the coach and the departure from the recruiting dinner.

But, a coach who had a pretty good run at Auburn qualifies as a big name at Cincinnati, IMO.

Auburn- Guz Malzahn: C+
Arkansas- Bret Bielema: B+
Kentucky- Mark Stoops: B
NC State- Dan Doeren: B-
Boston College- Steve Addazzio: D
Purdue- Darrell Hazel: B
Northern Illinois- Rod Carey: B-
Idaho- Paul Petrino: B
Tennessee- Butch Jones B
California- Sonny Dykes: C+
Colorado- Mike MacIntrye- B+
Cincinnati- Tommy Tuberville: B-
South Florida- Willie Taggart: A-
Oklahoma State- Todd Monken: C+
UTEP: Sean Kugler- B-
Western Kentucky: Bobby Petrino- D (Because he's not going to be there for long)

I made one change: I put Hazel at a B instead of a B-.

Ok state hired munken again?? :)

I have no idea why Skip didn't work out at USF. I remember some Vols wanted him at UT in 2008.

If I was Wisconsin, I would go after Paul Chryst or just hire within.

this thread's just for HC changes, right?

(if not:

Missouri promotes co-offensive line coordinator Josh Henson to Offensive Coordinator postion)

No we welcome discussion of all the coaching changes...

I'm surprised that Mizzou didn't bring in an outside guy to be the OC... they have to realize that their current system is not going to win in the SEC

There's some back and forth on that.

Some think it's just Pinkel wants to stay with what he's comfortable with (doesn't want too much change / wants someone with some familiarity)

or wants to stay in control with his system (their HC was of the opinion that the biggest factor last season was lack of execution and injuries...they spent most of the season pretty much without any of their starting Olinemen and half of it without their starting QB)

or (a third) that, since Yost was also their QB coach, there's a monetary concern in that they don't want to have to hire 2 new coaches (not sure though what their monetary situation is)

....I'm wondering though what it says/might mean that, of all coaches to promote to OC, it's the guy with a title of "co-offensive line coordinator"

Nevermind, looks like both promotions came from within for them:

After turning down Southern Miss, co-offensive line coach Josh Henson will be the Tigers new offensive coordinator. Missouri receivers coach Andy Hill will now coach quarterbacks. Both expected to get substantial raises. Official announcement is expected this week, perhaps as early as today. Tigers still looking for a receivers coach.
