Skip is a good coach, a place like Southern Miss would be lucky to have him. Also would fit at Northern Illinois or La Tech (If that job opens). Could even be a backup plan at Arkansas or Colorado.

I thought his move to South Florida was the wrong one.. His stock was really high at ECU when he took that job.

I do agree with niu. I think they will promote rod carey. But with skip available they may give him a look.

Colorado coaching target Butch Jones known for creative offenses - The Denver Post

Colorado's search for a new coach can get into full speed Sunday, with its No. 1 target, Cincinnati coach Butch Jones, having completed the regular season Saturday.

Multiple sources say Jones is Colorado's top target to replace the fired Jon Embree. Colorado could not initiate contact with Jones, however, until Cincinnati's season is done. Purdue appears to the other main suitor for Jones, who is expected to interview soon now that the season is over.

Both Colorado and Purdue appear willing to greatly increase Jones' contract, which is paying him $1.58 million this year, plus incentives. Colorado is willing to pay from $2 million to $2.5 million a year for its new coach.

Butch Jones: Sources tell us Butch spent most of the day with Purdue and understands what they can offer. Also hear Cincinnati is making a significant offer to keep him. Will update...

TCU: Hearing further confirmation to what we told you weeks ago, Gary Patterson isn't looking to leave TCU. Wouldn't surprise us to see an announcement of an extension to stay at TCU looooong term.

Brlieve its down to four at usm, heres my list in order i believe

1.Bobby petrino
2. Blake Anderson
3. Eddie Gran
4. Tyrone nix

They plan to have it down to two by weeks end

I would love petrino hired but think he wont be. I believe anderson and gran will be the finalists, if petrino declines

USF will definitely offer Willie Taggart. This seems like a perfect fit for him and the university as it is a nice upgrade from WKU but still at a level where he can learn as a coach. Big East will be easy pickings for anyone who can recruit locally and coach. If successful here, he will still be young enough for a higher coaching level in 3-5 years.

Supposedly Butch Jones will be making his decision in the next 24-48 hours. Apparently there is a very good chance he takes the Colorado job. Cincinnati will be matching the offers. Not sure about Purdue.
