NCAA Coaching Carousel

Supposedly Butch Jones will be making his decision in the next 24-48 hours. Apparently there is a very good chance he takes the Colorado job. Cincinnati will be matching the offers. Not sure about Purdue.

I think he may have been hoping to interview with us. Now that it appears we aren't interested I think he takes the Colorado job.

The question I'd ask is where exactly did Colorado manage to find that much money in the first place?

I read somewhere that Colorado has a number of boosters involved in the coaching search. They're also going to commit a serious amount of money to facility upgrades as well. TFWIW.

Looks like Colorado may finally be recommitting to their football program. If so, it is great for college football. That used to be a very proud program.

This is all about the conference realignment. No way I would leave Cincy for Purdue.

In a stunning coup, Arkansas will hire Wisconsin's Bret Bielema as its next football coach, Yahoo! Sports has learned.
Bielema, who has taken the Badgers to three straight Rose Bowls, was nowhere on the radar amid months of speculation over who Arkansas would hire.
An announcement will come today, sources told Y! Sports, but Bielema is not expected to be introduced until Wednesday.
.

Arkansas and Auburn hired coaches within twenty minutes of each other.

Creepy.

Dave Doeren just took door number one: a new Accord. Only to find out door number two: was a new Cadillac. I understand door number two could have been a zonk but I bet he is kicking himself right now.

Arky getting a coach before Tennessee is understandable. That place was a mess extremely early in the season. There was still a chance Dooley could have saved his job. Whats a bit discouraging is that Barn gets their guy so quickly after letting go of Gene within the last month or so. His job was in jeopardy based on speculation. By the time the season ended, it was a forgone conclusion that Dooley was history and had been so for a good while.

In short, it suck they got a coach before y'all did and what sucks more is that a ton of energy and hope has been placed in getting Gruden. Something I no longer view as feasible.

Not really, neither hired a guy we were interested in.

I hate this for Arkansas State. For the second year in a row they hire a coach they think can win and after having 1 good year he leaves. Now they are looking at 4 coaches in as many years.
