NCAA Looking to Shorten Games

Leave the college game alone. Why would I want to rush through my most favorite time of year?

The games are ridiculously long. But the problem is they'll never address the real reason why (too many media timeouts and instant replays).

Well, too bad there wasn't replay for the Gaffney no catch in 2000. They do need to get it right more often and not take forever reviewing things like was it 3rd or 4th down in the Bama game! I was rewatching the Florida game yesterday(I had yet to rewatch it because I was so mad at how they came back) and they couldn't get a Small's TD run up the middle right. You could see his whole body was in and the ball was in front of his body although there was one view of him spinning around leaving the end zone with the ball over the line and crossing back the other way as he was shoved back.....They couldn't see the ball though in other views...After 5 or more minutes and a first down from Napier's penalty, we scored the same way anyhow. Right up the middle from the 1 inch line.

As I said earlier in the thread, I believe there should absolutely be replay on all scoring plays and turnovers, period. Otherwise just let them play. Yeah, there'll be missed calls, but there are missed calls now even with the momentum killing stoppages.

The only time I'm somewhat thankful for all the media timeouts is after I break the seal........of course I don't wanna miss anything, so they can be moderately convenient.

Big picture is this: The more ways they find to run the clock, the less actual football we get to see. Who among us want to see less football? Isn't that why we watch the games?

On average, college games have nearly 160 plays per contest, which is almost 40 more than NFL games.

How long is a college football game?

This is why college games are longer. Why as a fan would we want to see 40 less plays a game? I don't get that
