NCAA Open Jobs Thread

Won't happen because he had one bad year after four very good ones but if LSU ever realized Jimbo ain't coming, you could do so much worse than my guy Mark Hudspeth.

Hawaii: Per source, Hawaii plans to hire Nevada offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich as their new head coach. Update> Hawaii has now announced the hire.

next opening might be Rutgers

Rutgers: NJ.com is reporting that AD Julie Hermann will meet with University President Robert Barchi this weekend. Per NJ.com, Barchi is “leaning towards” firing both Hermann and Kyle Flood. Stay tuned…

USCe
USCw
Miami
Maryland
Central Florida
Illinois
North Texas
Minnesota-filled Tracy Claeys
Virginia Tech
Hawaii- filled Nick Rolovich
Missouri
Louisiana-Monroe
Iowa State
Syracuse
Am I missing any? I'm sure Memphis and Houston will be on here soon :)

Just my guesses:

LSU- Bo Pelini
USCe- Les Miles
USCw- Chip Kelly
Miami- Mario Cristobal
Maryland- Lane Kiffin
Illinois- Luke Finkel
Virginia Tech- Justin Fuente
Missouri- Matt Campbell
Iowa State- Lincoln Riley
Syracuse- Greg Schiano

Just saw the Rutgers thing. No doubt they'll call Schiano.

Fedora might have to rebuild half his staff for next year

Sources told FootballScoop Friday evening the North Texas search is down to TCU offensive coordinator Doug Meacham and North Carolina assistant head coach for offense Seth Littrell.

They're getting out while their stock is high. Fedora was awful for the three years leading up to this.

I completely disagree. He's a good coach that had a tough situation after what happened with Butch Davis.

Illinois hiring interim surprises me..that could be a good job. I also swapped out VT opening with Memphis

Virginia Tech-filled Justin Fuente
Hawaii- filled Nick Rolovich

This year's coaching openings could become a major domino effect depending on what happens at LSU and USC. You know, Spurrier made a point in saying he's not retired when he had his last press conference at USCjr. Crazier things have happened. I would love to see him coaching next year.

Campbell to Iowa State?

Iowa State: Toledo head coach Matt Campbell is the front-runner for the Iowa State head coaching job, and a deal is expected in the next 48 hours, according to Sports Illustrated. However, Austin American-Statesman reporter Ryan Autullo reports Toledo is prepared to offer Campbell a deal to make him the highest-paid coach in the MAC. Autullo previously worked at the Toledo Blade newspaper.

USCw has been quiet for awhile..now they are playing for a championship..I'm thinking they keep Helton

USC: After beating UCLA and winning the Pac-12 South, interim head coach Clay Helton was asked if he’s done enough to get the full-time job. Players said absolutely. Helton said, “That is not my job. That’s y’all’s job. Like I told you when I took it, my job is to look over these kids and help them win every game we’re associated with. We’ve got another one in seven days. We’ll enjoy this one tonight, and then we’ve got an opportunity to be Pac-12 champions. That’s pretty big stuff. My only focus is on that. I’ll let guys who speculate speculate, but my job is this team right now.” Helton is 5-2 since taking over.
