NCAA Open Jobs Thread

Scott Frost is a bright young coach and good recruiter. I know my Nebraska buddy was pissed when they hired Mike Riley over him last year. UCF got a good one.

Rumor is that North Carolina OC Seth Littrell could be North Texas' next head coach. Another young coach with a bright offensive mind.

By all indications of his run-ins with UGA admin and coaching staff, hiring Pruitt as the USCjr HC would be a big mistake. I hope it happens.

TCU's Doug Meachem withdraws from North Texas coaching search

I didn't think Richt would coach again, but perhaps he's learned from Fulmer and Chizik that you have to saddle up immediately after or you might be left in the dust the following year.

Charlie Strong wants Meachem as OC at Texas. Don't think Strong will be there after next season once the new AD is in place.

on Dykes...buyers remorse on his part, should have stayed at LaTech an extra yr, then he'd be strong candidate for Mizzou, top of list for USCe, maybe even fall back for UGA.

Georgia: Kirby Smart will be Georgia’s next head coach, the AJC has reported and FootballScoop has been told the same. The deal isn’t expected to be final until after the SEC Championship game per source. Sources tell FootballScoop that Jeremy Pruitt will not be retained and is expected to be targeted by Alabama to fill Smart’s position. We have been told that Smart hopes to bring Will Muschamp as his defensive coordinator however this is not a done deal (ole Muschamp might have other things working…). We wrote earlier in the day about Glen Schumann. Georgia fans, get to know him. He’s coming…unless Nick does something BIG. We are told to expect Alabama strength coach Scott Cochran to come with Smart to Georgia. Source tells FootballScoop that Kirby hopes to retain sam linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer. We were also told to expect Smart to retain Bryan McClendon and Thomas Brown. More on the pending hire here.
