you say 1st in the West.....Bama is going to be the favorite again next year. Auburn will probably be better. i do think LSU will be better as well. ARK is probably next, and i expect Ole Miss and MSU to step back.

Les is going to have to throw the wolves some bones or even the people that supported him will back out. He has personnel to work with next year to make a run, if its more regression... eventually people will hold him accountable. I thought LSU could be good next year with or without him, my thoughts haven't changed... although LSU is going to need a freshman LB or two to make a splash.

what if LSU is 11-1, the one being to Bama, and on the outside looking in for the SEC title? they may still be in Playoff talks, most certainly new years six bowls, and top 10 team.

Watch out for Arkansas in 2016. I think they could win 10 games and finish 2nd in the SEC West.

Wow somebody hired John L. Smith!

Kentucky State is an HBCU Division II school of a little more than 2,000 students located in the Bluegrass State capital of Frankfort. We understand Smith’s children live in nearby Louisville.

Virginia: Mark Richt is interviewing for the Virginia head coaching job today, according to Newsplex

Is Fuente a good recruiter?

I think he is more known for X and Os than recruiting...might be one of the reasons they kept Foster. I didn't realize that VT had done so poorly with instate kids

Although the Hokies were never a team that's attracted five-star recruits in large doses under Frank Beamer, they've struggled recently to keep the state's top prospects close to home, and many of the highly-rated recruits from within the state that they have gotten didn't pan out.

Tech hasn't landed the state's top recruit since running back David Wilson in 2009, and its showing in the top 10, particularly the last couple years, hasn't been great. The Hokies don't have a single top 10 commitment from Virginia in the 2016 class, according to Rivals. Defensive back Reggie Floyd, at No. 18, is their top-ranked recruit in the state by that website.

"Justin knew where the 10 best players in Virginia had signed for a number of years," athletic director Whit Babcock said of the interview process. "And they need to be going to Virginia Tech."

That's not to say recruiting rankings trump everything. Fuente's classes at Memphis were never highly-ranked. His highest-ranked class with the Tigers was 72nd nationally, according to Rivals, and was as low as 90th. His 2016 class there is currently ranked 89th.

Thanks. I don't know much about him other than a month ago he was a pretty hot name. I thought maybe he was holding his own versus the Mississippi schools locally in Memphis.

Thanks for the info.

Maryland: Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin will be named head coach at Maryland, according to Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel

Syracuse: Dan Wolken of USA Today reports that Chris Ash has pulled out of the process at Syracuse. Wolken’s words, “clearing the way for Dino Babers”.

Great hire.

I think so too. Not like Michigan's defense sucked before they got there (14th in yards allowed per play in 2014) but they made it into an elite unit while losing important players before/throughout the year. Interested to see how this works out.

If Mark Richt wants to immediately jump back in to the coaching ranks, the former Georgia coach tops the wish list of the Miami Hurricanes, a source told Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post.

Tennessee Tech: Head coach Watson Brown is expected to announce his retirement, according to multiple reports. The 65-year-old Brown is 42-60 in nine seasons at Tennessee Tech and 136-211-1 in his coaching career, which includes stops at UAB, Vanderbilt, Rice, Cincinnati and Austin Peay.

Rutgers: Former Miami head coach Al Golden and Ohio State co-defensive coordinator / safeties coach Chris Ash are among the top candidates for the Rutgers head coaching job, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy. The Cleveland Plain Dealer adds that Ohio State offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Ed Warinner is also a candidate

Randy Shannon is an interesting possibility. He's got lots of South Florida and Miami recruiting connections that UCF needs if they're going to rebuild the program.

I wonder why schools continue to hire coaching retreads? Chizc was good at AU cause he had cam newton. He sucked at his previous job and once he didn't have an all American QB he sucked at auburn. Randy Shannon was terrible at Miami as well. I would rather give an OC or DC a shot than hire some guy who has had one or 2 good years out of 7-8
