Syracuse: The Oregonian reports Syracuse offered its head coaching job to Scott Frost with a starting salary close to $1.2 million, but Frost chose UCF instead

translation? He gone! I think this is the year Mullen leaves or else he might not get another chance without Prescott

Mississippi State: Dan Mullen wouldn’t address reports of an interview at Miami (FL), telling reporters, per the Clarion-Ledger, “Every year I come here, every single year, you guys ask me the same questions. I’m not going to waste my time commenting on rumors on the Internet.”

Geoff Calkins: "Memphis has decided to move on from Barry Odom. It's over. Story to come."

Wow. I'm legitimately shocked.

Gary Parrish yesterday: "Barry Odom will be the next head coach at Memphis...unless he stays at Mizzou."

Memphis sports media is Hi-larious.

The only thing attractive about Miami is the recruits. The facilities, the stadium, and the fan base are major detractors.

Georgia: Kirby Smart will be Georgia’s next head coach, the AJC has reported and FootballScoop has been told the same. The deal isn’t expected to be final until after the SEC Championship game per source. Sources tell FootballScoop that Jeremy Pruitt will not be retained and is expected to be targeted by Alabama to fill Smart’s position. We have been told that Smart hopes to bring Will Muschamp as his defensive coordinator however this is not a done deal (ole Muschamp might have other things working…). We wrote earlier in the day about Glen Schumann. Georgia fans, get to know him. He’s coming…unless Nick does something BIG. We are told to expect Alabama strength coach Scott Cochran to come with Smart to Georgia. Source tells FootballScoop that Kirby hopes to retain sam linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer. We were also told to expect Smart to retain Bryan McClendon and Thomas Brown. More on the pending hire here.

But it’s not just Smart that could leave Tuscaloosa later this month. A source told FootballScoop Alabama’s defensive game-planning meetings consist of three people: Saban, Smart and Glen Schumann. Schumann is a well-hidden gear in the machine, titled only “player development/player personnel” on Alabama’s staff directory. There is no bio to be found. A Google web and image search bring nothing. But Schumann is a key member of the Tide’s defensive staff, tasked with taking Saban and Smart’s ideas and putting them into words the rest of the staff and players can comprehend.

Why this offseason could be a drain on Nick Saban's staff like none other - FootballScoop

Huh?? Interpreter?

VolnJC who would be on your list of Coaches in trouble going into 2016? I think i would put Paul Johnson of Georgia Tech at #1 and Mark Stoops of Kentucky at #2 and i think Les Miles will be in trouble once again if LSU is 8-4 and 3rd in the SEC West in 2016.

I think I would have Strong as number 1...gotta win this year..2)Hazell at Purdue he basically dumped his assistants to save his job...3)Riley at Nebraska..4) Malzahn..Auburn can't take seeing big brother win championships every year

Stoops should be OK for next year..he has a crazy buyout like 15 million I think

Purdue fans are demanding that Hazell and AD Burke be fired. They are happy his staff is gone but like u said it was a them or you type thing for Hazell. Hazell should have been fired this season but even with another nightmare season next year it's not a given he's gone as long as Burke is the AD. Purdue doesn't seem committed at all in the football program. Boiler Nation wants Joe Tiller or Gene Keady as next AD. The boosters wanted to go all out for Richit or Tommy Tuberville at Cincy.

Michigan to launch national search for AD after Jim Hackett steps

Report: Georgia GOP recruiting Mark Richt to run for governor

Yup.

LSU will probably be in the best shape its been in 10+ years as far as almost no seniors and probably at most 1-3 declaring early. If LSU isn't 1st in the West next year, I suspect huge problems. LSU will need some freshmen LBs to stepup, but the rest of the teams is in good shape personnel wise.

3 to 4 losses probably isn't going to go over well with what they have coming back.

LSU needs a quarterback who can pass the football.

Three days after Illinois removed the interim tag from coach Bill Cubit's title, the Fighting Illini made more changes to their staff, firing special teams coordinator Alex Golesh and linebackers coach Mike Ward.

Like who?

People keep saying the same thing but the only QB in the SEC that actually even comes close to carrying their team is Chad Kelly and Prescott. I actually don't have any issues with Brandon Harris, although I do admit he had a horrible game against TAM.

I believe LSU's D gave up the most points this year per game since 2008 and I think the most yards per game since before Saban was here.

People keep talking about the offense, which I admit needs major adjusting, just like ever year, the problems actually start on D.

Its a young team, but no I don't think some QB is going to come in and win all the games. Better QB play certainly could help, but all I saw in the Bama, Ole Miss and Arkansas game is horrible D.

I've been saying for years, I will take LSU's offense over that crap TAM does.... not sure why people think that teams that throw are automatically assumed to have good offenses... TAM hasn't had a good offense since that guy has been there... all he had was one guy that made a lot of teams pay for over committing.

what if LSU is 11-1, the one being to Bama, and on the outside looking in for the SEC title? they may still be in Playoff talks, most certainly new years six bowls, and top 10 team.

you say 1st in the West.....Bama is going to be the favorite again next year. Auburn will probably be better. i do think LSU will be better as well. ARK is probably next, and i expect Ole Miss and MSU to step back.
