just saying. Sit out a year or play pro over seas then enter the NBA draft. Virtually all these ky players would be drafted regardless. Quit ruining college bb!

Best solution is MLB rule.

You can go pro straight out of high school.

But...if you go to college you must stay atleast 3 years before entering the draft.

It would level the field and create that parity IMO.

Parity is another word for mediocrity. Ask me if people like parity in the NFL?

Fact is, there just aren't many kids ready for the NBA just out of HS.

The solution simply isn't forcing kids that wouldn't and shouldn't otherwise go to college, to spend a semester on campus. Should be a choice, right now it's not.

I can't help but think as I watch this Kentucky-Baylor game: Calipari can take the Kentucky roster and beat Scott Drew to a pulp, then swap rosters and still beat Scott Drew to a pulp. More of an indictment on Drew than praise for Calipari.

As long as they stay in good academic standing, I have no problem with it. Some people take years to get their degree...no disgrace in putting it on hold.

One and done basketball players have absolutely zero need for spending any time at a college. Nada. Nil.

The only reason that they do is because the NBA refuses to take them once they're adults (18 years old). I love watching college basketball right now, but making these one and doners vacation at a campus for 6 months is ridiculous.

I believe it. I think the one year rule is garbage.

I get why the NFL does it. They'd get killed out of high school. At the same time, they're 18.

College football and now the 1 year rule for college basketball is a free minor league system for the pros. You can't judge an 18 year olds future as a professional football player and the one year rule for college basketball prevents teams from drafting Kwame Brown, Darko Millicic, Jonathan Bender, Sebastian Telfair, Shaun Livingston, Leon Smith, etc. Imagine if Scotty Hopson or Lance Stephenson could have gone pro right of high school. Lance Stephenson sucks and can't even get off the bench behind terrible NBA players. A year of college gives the scouts a chance to see them against real competition.

Forcing kids to go to college before the NBA is b.s.

Even if the top high school prospect wants to skip college for 3 years prior going to the NFL, they didn't have a coach making 3 million a year to keep them in shape and teach them more about the game. There is a reason college coaches make so much money... the school makes money off the kids they coach and the NFL uses them as a minor league system. It's wrong.

plus schools get that reputation of being primarily a one and done school( mainly ky) then the kids that have absolutely no interest in going to college gravitate to that school creating the Callipari style NBA assembly line and the massive disparity in college bb

Actually, I love the NFL's parity. The NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl have been outstanding for quite a while now. I am glad the days of the entire season being a prelim to the eventual 49ers-Cowboys clash for the right to kill the AFC are gone.

Haha! No joke. Btw, didn't think all the bashing, & flaming that the visitors are doing was allowed on here? I've gotten infractions for way less. What gives?
the arrogance of the ky fans is amazing. They need to wake up and realize that what's going on in Lexington is NOT college bb. Once this final 4 is vacated. They can start all over again. Beg Tubby to come back.

How about I ask the viewers??? NFL is at an all time high as far as popularity from what I've seen.

I personally love the parity in the NFL, it makes it much more enjoyable IMO.

Also, suggesting that athletes are as ready in CBB after 1 year as they are unready for the nfl is asinine. It's such a more physically grueling sport 18 year old kids on average just wouldn't be able to stay healthy in the NFL.

You're a UK fan so I understand why you wouldn't want this to change. Much like im a Yankees fan and I don't want a salary cap. With both those scenarios most of the rest of population feels the other way.

I'm sorry you feel that way. We have pride about our basketball. The same way you guys feel about football. As I was told at a young age, "It's not bragging if it's true."

Don't hold your breath for karma to strike this season.
