NCAA Tourney Running Thread

Not so sure about that and I think Stillman White and UNC beg to differ.

Neither Vandy nor Indiana was more "athletic" than Kentucky, so that's not what you have to worry about.

Kentucky is an amazing team and still undeniably the favorite to win the Championship, but where do you peg your odds? 35%? 40%? Still worse than a coin flip.

Candy got Ky after playing 3 straight days. Ky wasn't as deep as Candy and Candy wanted it more than Ky. I'm not so sure that Ky wasn't disinterested either. That's as beatable as they've looked all season during the SEC tourney in which their own coach said he doesn't like playing.

Look at the Vegas odds to see what Ky's odds are. They're the odds on favorite. If anyone else wins it, it will be a surprise.

You seem a bit more irritated than usual.

Nah, I just don't see why this would be the place to be for a KY fan next week. It will turn into an exchange of "Calipari is dirty" vs "Show the proof." If it were me, I'd rather spend next week (hopefully) raising glasses with 'my own kind' than coming over here to debate the legitimacy of the win and get irritated when people predict it will be vacated.

We'll do plenty of that too, don't worry about us.

Who isn't more efficient on fast breaks? UNC is a team that HAS to run to win, their half court game is average. Look at the Ken Pom stats and other factors, UK's halfcourt offense is one of the top 3 efficient in the nation. A lot of it is attributed to offensive rebounding, but nonetheless it counts. Kentucky can grind it out with the best of them, and that's an objective view, not homerism.

As for our odds in the final (IF we make it) I'd say against KU we are 80%, against OSU it is 60% due to their defense.

Kenpom can't measure half-court efficiency.

I'm not talking about odds in the finals, I'm talking about odds to win the championship, which means winning the next two games. I'm no statustician, but I'd put the odds at:

Kentucky -35%
Ohio State-30%
Kansas-20%
Louisville-15%

In other words, a 65% chance Kentucky DOESN'T win the championship game, as of right now.

UK has much better odds than that.

So what's the story on the hate between Calipari and Pitino? Ive been hearing about it on the radio but nobody tells the story?

Not sure the real origin. It goes back to Cal's days at UMass eventhough I always heard that Pitino helped Cal get that job.

It's not as bitter as the John Chaney "I will kill you"/Cal hate though :p

Also, UK-tosu championship game incoming, or at least that's what I'm hoping for. tosu matches up a bit better with UK than Kansas does.

Kentucky will beat Kansas within an inch of their lives. OSU has a legit chance, I think, which is why I picked them to win it all in all my brackets.
